I'm not sure.. I've bought windshield suction cup style mounts from all over the place. Amazon, Ebay, Best Buy, Wally-World, you name it. Most last for a month or two until at some point I'm driving down the road and they just suddenly fall off the windshield without warning. Seems like once that happens the suction cup never works right again. I dunno.. maybe "user error?"

Its either cheapo ones or user error.. My phone is pretty heavy too, and it holds up offroad and all. In fact I haven't moved it since i got this truck over a year ago

You need a panavise Mount my friend. I had one on my tacoma but sold it recently. I now have a dodge 2500 and one of the first things i added. Never fell off while off-roading and so easy to put off/on. All you do is add a little magnet strip it come with on your phone case and that’s it. The ball swivles nicely in all directions. I added super glue for extra insurance when i installed it on the panavise mout.

I’m using a Proclip dash mount which clips on to the top and bottom lips of the dash and is easily repositioned or removed.<proclipusa.com>

The cradle for the phone is switched out for the Prodigy RF brake controller when I’m towing my travel trailer.

    Very solid.

I think it is important to hard wire into the USB port for full fidelity audio and power charging while driving. I use an iBolt iPro2 mount suction disc in the empty space, next to the rearward center console cup holder with the built in docking cable run under the center console to the USB port. Get to keep all my cup holders, nothing is visible from outside the truck so it's a very discrete location. No magnets that defeat wireless charging at home, and it swivels. The iBolt is decent, and I broke the first one after two years heavy use. On the second one, and ok so far.

I have one of these, it has wireless charging in it aswell. Only thing I hate about vent clips is that the heat blows on the phone and over heats it. I have a panavise mount that Im going to use with this holder. I believe it has a size A ball mount on the back (have yet to measure it) and I will just need the ball mount to utilize the panavise.ventev-wirelesspro-6-400x267-c.jpg

Can’t imagine but who knows nowadays; do these sanctions in Canada include using hands free?

Yes , you are only allowed to use hands-free. My son's girlfriend was charged with having her phone in her hand. She had to go to court and received an $800 fine and license suspension of 30 days.

What kind of mount are you using on it? I have that deck, but can't find a qi charging mount that goes to a ram mount, so I just have a vent mount squeezed onto the metal deck.

Out side of a suction magnet mount I don’t have a lot of experience with everything out there. To compare ..

But the Tech deck is perfect . To have the phone there is my choice of location. And to have the tablet for off-road is the ducks nuts ..

I have the “extreme “ model ... like everything about it .. strong. Low profile. Great location .

100% agree. I have this mount with a Techdeck in my 2nd gen.

Not knowing what the back of your qi charging mount looks like, can you fabricate a mount for it? I have the same mob armor mount shown above and I cut some angle iron to mount the metal disk vertically and used a bolt to fasten the angle iron to the tech deck. I could probably attach the metal disk onto the tech deck directly but I wanted it vertically to allow for better angles

You been here to long, When there's TOO MUCH TO LIST!
I love my Steelie, even have one to hold my "Scangauge 2" above my rearview mirror. Trying to figure out how to get it to hold my P3 brake controller, The ball looks kind of minimalistic with nothing on em.

Use the cup holder. Won't fall off, won't sag, available 360^ rotation.
