hey all, so I am building the CBI DIY front bumper for my 1st gen. It was my christmas gift to myself, lol.

Most of it goes together pretty easy. However there are a few gussets that I'm not quite sure where to put them. I've contacted CBI a few different ways (DM here, email, facebook msg), and have gotten zero response. I know I know "have you called them?" I plan on that tomorrow.

I plan to do a full build thread once I'm finished, since no one seems to have done one, but I want to get these gussets placed first.

Anyhoo, does anyone have a pic of the winch plate and/or from the back of their MOAB 1.0? I'm 95% sure the MOAB and the DIY are the same kit.

I *think* the larger right-triangle gussets go under the winch plate, but not sure if they should go inboard of the holes for the winch, or to the outside. I'm probably splitting hairs with that part, but I want to get it as close to "as designed" as possible.

And I have NO IDEA where the small triangle gussets go... They can go pretty much anywhere.

    Here's a little teaser photo:

    I figured it out...

Plan to post a build thread when I’m done.

    Yeah, thanks.

I ended up putting mine to the inside of the winch plate holes based on another user's help.

    Nice welds BTW...

Looks good! I may go this route and have someone weld it for me

Just for some perspective, if you add up the money I spend on the bumper and my welder, that ends up only being a few bucks off from buying the fully assembled Moab 1.0 bumper.

I've also built sliders. Well, okay, I didn't "build" them, but I got the 4xInnovations DOM "kit" for $250.

Just these 2 projects alone have easily paid for the welder.
