The bearing is going out and I haven't decided which route I am going to take to fix it. I am going to take it apart and inspect this weekend. Just didn't want it to seeze up while its 10 degrees out.

    1. Order this kit, but the few negative reviews concern me about the wires rubbing or being exposed. its not really clear why the one reviewer had an issue.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D7OSFTI/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A2ZMNPBSO25V8T&psc=1

    2. Order and new OEM compressor. Ill do it myself other than the uncharge and recharge.

    3. I am going to try to source just the bearing, I bet I can find the part number somewhere. This is my favorite option, just press a new one in on lunch at work.

Kind of frustrating being the truck is only 6 years old, I am sure the salt got to it. At least the Taco is easy to work on. A TW member in another forum gave me an entire break down.

Ah, okay. I wasn't sure if there was some psuedohorsepower reasoning or something. Hopefully you get it fixed without too much headache.

    SEAT SPACER MOD.

Starting Feb. 1st the price will be $10 each and not the $7.50 materials have gone up. I think I have enough in stock till then. So your cost after Feb. 1st for one seat will be $27 without bolts or $32 with bolts and that includes $7 shipping. For both seats $47 without bolts or $57 with bolts. Sorry but not making much as it is and have to go with the flow. Thank you

I found my CV seals on both sides have some fluid leaking when I did my skids on Sunday. Just a little though. What do you mean by exploded everywhere? Where was yours leaking from?

(trying to figure out if mine will 'explode' soon too or if I treat it like my old YJ and just keep the diff topped off for now)

I have TacomaBeast lights but they lack a reflector bowl so I believe they give off less light than my stock ones. I'm just about to try this myself, would be a fun project. Did you use any special kind of paint or primer?

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)
Everyone says to use Krylon Fusion, no primer needed. I couldn't find any so I used another one, just make sure it's designed to bond to plastic. I recommend a satin finish as well. It gets just glossy enough while baking to look awesome. Good luck. It's relatively easy, just take your time and don't rush anything!

As I only post sporadically on here..... so these were not done today but in the past month.....The ARB air locker was necessary as I shredded the spider gears in the rear diff and since the stock spider gears were 700 for part alone I bit the bullet and did the upgrade. It is nice to have onboard air as well. I did not do this mod myself I had a local shop, Spicers Auto and Offroad handle it for me. Nice clean install. I recommend those guys if you are in the North Ga area.

    arb.jpg

Full RCI skid package so the trail hippo can better slide into home plate....install took about two hours with a friend and a few beers and a couple cuss words.

    skids.jpg

Best picture I have of the mount location, dead center of the bed. FireStik antenna, fire ring coax hooked to a Uniden Pro 510XL. It was a fun little install and first time go on it working properly after the SWR tune. I did not need an additional ground.

    ant.jpg

And this one is just for giggles.....since the trail hippo is a LONG way from being a stock SR5 4x4 any more....

Thanks. It's either that or sell both sets and buy some retrofits.

Pulled over for window tint. I got the fronts tinted 3.5 years ago to match the rear factory tint. I've driven by police officers hundreds of times, sat next to them at stop lights, and even driven by their stations I couldn't tell you how many times. Welp, out of the blue I get pulled over for tint. I wasn't speeding or wasn't driving like a maniac. Just putting along heading to do an audit. It's from the neighboring township that I live in, so I am in that district every day. I guess its now time to get the tints switched over to 50% per the tint laws. I should have followed the tint laws in the first place.
