Im 16 and I've been working on cars, motorcycles, and anything I could find to take apart since I was a little kid. I was given my grandpas manual 2008 Tacoma since he cant drive it anymore and I want to do some mods on it. The truck is a 5 lug SR5 and Im planning on installing a leveling kit, new wheel/rims and tires. I figured I would go ahead and ask some people who have already done this before so here are the parts I'm planning on using. Please let me know if there's anything that won't work or anything I'm missing. Thanks!

    • Pro comp leveling kit, 2.75 front and 1.75 rear
    • Pacer 166SB 16x8 5x114.3 wheels
    • P245/75R16 tires

Im not sure about the wheels, but the tires and lift looks good. I was considering the lift for months but i cant bring myself to paying 350$ for it lol. Also you have the manual 5 lug (The super tank) that thing will never die :)

Everything looks good, might need wheel spacers for those wheels to clear the brake calipers.

Thanks! I've looked into some different rim options and found some that are still 16x8 but have a -12 offset, so they should definitely clear everything. I am considering increasing to 265/75R16 tires, but I'm worried that they'll rub when the wheels are cut all the way to one side. Do you think that that would be a problem?

Gone over the Top for a 5-lug..
Please see my thread at https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hackds-ongoing-5-lug-armored-slug-build.368928/

It's a long one, and i meander a fair bit with my posts, but i went the reinforced 5-lug route, myself.

With the suspension changes, and lift/level kit, you should be fine with 245/75R16, in terms of actual physical fit.

However, with your manual gearing, you might not be so happy - please see graphic below for details.

Simply put, you will have taller gearing, and will lose a portion of torque, off the line. You may or may not be happy with that. I wasn't, with a tire/wheel combination that came in at 29.3" (225/75R15) vs OEM (215/70R15) 26.9". It rocked on the highway for gas mileage (80% of my driving) with a lower RPM given top speed, but required lots of shifting to keep it happy and making power. It was marginal, in starting off the line (In my own opinion). My initial tire/rim change up to the 225/75R16s (29.3"), was an increase of in tire circumference at 8.9% - 245/75R16 (30.5") are 13.4% - 265/75R16's (31.6") come in at 17.5% My current tire size of 235/85R16's (31.7") come in at 17.8% .. close to a 265/75R16 in tire circumference.

When i did that second move up to 235/85R16, i had the Truck regeared to 4.11:1. Stock is 3.307:1 (IIRC). It's now perfectly geared, but required a complete differential transplant from a non-TRD 4x4 with an aftermarket LSD installed.

You get to this stage, and you need the correct ratio of skills, money, time, and tools.

Note, my own truck took a fair amount of time to sort out as a project, and still isn't really done.. Money wasn't an issue for me.
