Ha, I'm the one that posted that.

I've done all of the trails labeled on there around Columbus & middle GA and most of the ones in NE Georgia around Helen/Clayton.

Unfortunately not much has changed in the time since that was posted. If anything it's worse because Standing Boy WMA and Sperwell WMA are gated closed now. There's not a whole lot in the way of long trail runs or technical stuff around here.

The Ft. Benning power line trail is about as rough as it gets but it's super short. There's also a road called Seven-Branches Road in Harris county that's a fun little trip with a few shallow water crossings on it. Talladega National Forest in AL also has a couple good trails on it that you could plan a day around.

Yeah, all except for the very last part (you'll know it when you see it). But there's a cut through trail to take you back to pavement right there at the big gully wash so you don't have to double back unless you just want to.

@iK0NiK just got a Tacoma and new to the forum. Know anywhere close to Lawrenceville, GA or NE GA to go off-road?

Thanks! Went out to the Lake Russell WMA near Cornelia, GA yesterday. Nice place to start the first time with the Tacoma. Wish I had more time, there looked like there were some tougher trails.

Not a lot of places in Gwinnett to mess around in. A lot of the power lines are a no go. I'm in Lawrenceville and all the places we use to mud/travel have started to develop.

Is there anywhere else relatively close to us in Gwinnett?

I live in Harris County and I've been itchin for some real off road shit. I hit 7 branches road all the time but its nothing to write home about. I'm glad I saw your comment about the gates closed cause I was literally about to drive to check them out today after work... bummer though

The flint river power line trail in Talbot Co. is good, and requires 4WD. I can't remember right off the top of my head how long it is, but it's a lot of fun. Start of the trail is here: https://goo.gl/maps/28BsBvBNabvH5BPj9 It'll take you down to the edge of the Flint River.

The Ft. Benning power line trail is also decent. It's super short but it's fun. They recently (as in the past 6 months) re-graded it, so most of it is 2WD easy, but there's still a couple of fun hills to ride up. It's in Ft. Mitchell. https://goo.gl/maps/RYWeC27yex9MdhY16

I haven't been to the Talbot side of the Sperwell WMA in over a year so it may be back open. I'd be interested to hear if you check it out. There's not a whole lot in the way of offroading around here anymore. We usually take a trip up to northeast Georgia every few months to get some real trail riding in.

Yeah you’d think there’d be more good trails this way but the options are limited. I’m gonna check out those you listed though thanks for the reply

Anytime. If you do that power line trail in Talbot County, just make sure you take a right when you get to the power line. Straight takes you to a gate, and left takes you onto private property if I recall. You'll see the trail everyone takes. Can't miss it.

I live in Dacula and I've found some great trails and powerlines around my area. Some of the areas are pretty tight but great for dual sport bikes.

I've found some cool trails in the Dacula area off Stanley Rd. Hill climbs, creek crossings, mud, rocks, roots, etc. Great for dual sport bikes, too!

I hope this helps! The entrances are pretty obvious when you pull down Stanley (which is gravel).
