Anyone know if it's easy to switch between Android and Apple phones? I have apple & my GF has android. It looks like every time I want to switch between them I have to go into the "Smart phone settings"?

    Anyone know?

Has anyone tried using miracast on the 8400 nex with the pixel 3?

Just checking in on this thread. Lots of good information. Was really bummed to find out Entune 3.0 doesn't support Pandora. Just plain dumb.... Looking at the 8400 and Maestro setup. Just waiting for the mic adapter. Have the JBL, so I'm still looking for info on what all was included. Sounds like If I replace the head unit that I should just gut the rest of it out and just do, tweeters 6x9s in front and coaxials in back, maybe and under seat sub? Not looking for anything crazy...

Thanks for all the great info guys!

I upgraded to the 8400 from Entune Premium HU for the purpose of using the 13-Band Graphic Equalizer & AppleCarPlay. Ended up swapping out the front tweeters with Subaru Kicker tweeters H631SFJ101(direct swap, no need for mount/bracket) ,front 6x9s with Kicker 43CSC6935 6x9 3-way, and rear 6.5s with Kicker 43CSC674 6.75" 2-way. If you plan on upgrading your HU, I would definitely recommend swapping out the factory paper speakers. Eventually, I will install a ********* sub or something similar to fit behind the rear driver side seat for the added bass.

I ended up using the mic that came with the HU, clipped into the top of the rearview mirror area headliner.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that antenna adapter has nothing to do with the sat radio, correct? How were you able to use your factory sat antenna with this sterio upgrade? Crutchfields says there's no adapter for any aftermarket sterio that will adapt the oem sat antenna to a 2nd gen tacoma. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Yes, that one isn’t. But these work to hook up the sat and gps antennas. Note that mine is a 3rd gen though but I’d imagine it’s the same.

I have been doing stereo installs and stuff in my vehicles over the years as well and admittedly installing my 8000NEX was quite a challenge in trying to integrate all the old wiring into the new headunit again as well when I did it.

Glad to see you managed to get through it and are enjoying your new headunit! I may be looking to upgrade mine to this one in short order, as I feel some of the features are beginning to show date on them.

Since you had XM working I assume, did your head unit allow you to pause and rewind xm channels? And when you change channel does it start at the beginning of the song?

I almost pulled the trigger on a Sony head unit and one Amazon review said it doesn't allow that. I'm looking for confirmation on any head unit so I can decide what to get. Thanks!

Wow, impressed with pioneer ( at least the Nav/stereo department ). I called in to file a bug ( mentioned earlier in this thread ) to pioneer support a few weeks ago and got this in my inbox this morning. Won't have time to try it out for a little bit, but impressed they actually listen, test and respond so quickly. Will still need to verify it works etc. I encourage everyone out there to call pioneer when they encounter issues to make the product better.

Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.
Sorry for the delay in responding.

It appears ADS was able to resolve the issue on their side. You will need to flash a new update to your module.
Their tech support said they pushed the Beta update to your account. I am not sure if you get a notification of this.

Please log into your account and install the beta software for your unit.
Let me know the results and I will update our engineers.

    Thanks

Are you referring to the center console display showing only ‘wi-fi’ that you mentioned earlier?

Mine does that very sporadically...as in about once every couple of weeks. I can’t reproduce it on demand, but started paying attention to it after you posted.

It's mainly annoying when you are using maps and don't know what's playing and want to

Question, do you need an after market mic to use for phone calls?

The unit comes with a mic that you can use. There are solutions in the works to connect to the oem one, but not available yet

I have 2nd Gen. Will 8400 fit for 2nd Gen?
I'm new to A/V and wanted to upgrade factory HU for quite some time.
Just not sure where to begin
