I disagree.
I have several tools that have seen hard use for the last 4 years that still perform flawlessly.
My sawzall is still being used for heavy demo. I don't even bother with my corded ones anymore.

I don’t know what you’re comparing them to, or what specific models you feel that way about, but I’ve used Dewalt, Hilti, Ridgid, Makita, Ryobi, Porter Cable, and others and disagree with your statement. I don’t use all my tools everyday, or as often as some contractors may, but I have had no issues with any of my Milwaukee stuff. I prefer them to all the other brands I’ve used, and not just because I already have batteries for them.

I think if you take care of your tools they should last a long time.

 

I’ve heard someone else on here call them that too, wasn’t sure if there was something I was missing lol.

I’m curious how long that 12ah battery will last you. Do you know how many cuts it’s supposed to make with that saw on one charge? I bought a cordless Milwaukee circular saw a year or so ago with a 9ah and the box said it could cut like 450 2x4s. I’ve still never killed that battery in a day.

 

Shit, now @Subway4X4 is gonna get all upset and then hunter is gonna come school us all on power tools.

Up to lunch only dropped to 3 bars on the battery. Only cut about 40 2x4s and a dozen or so 2 x6s. With the more powerful motor I do not expect the battery to last as long as when it is in the older model brushless saw. Had a 12ah last for two days in that saw.
My DeWalt 36v circular saw and recip saw lasted me for 7 years and only were replaced because the batteries became impossible to find.

 

People's tool choices truly need to be based on budget, usage, and required life expectancy. There is truly no best tool. For infrequent use it makes no sense to buy the most capable and expensive brand.
Cryobi tools can be adequate for most home owners and a cheap enough that more tools can be purchased. Same with Fridgid and the new rendition of Shorter Table, which is now priced to compete with Cryobi.
Hell, I buy most of my seldom used tools for Hazard Fraught specifically because they are cheap and of good enough quality.

And DeFault has really increased their product line lately.

Agree. My tool choices are what they are because I don’t expect to buy the same tool ever again. I have tools 30+ years old.

Unless I need two or three of the same. i.e. I seem to need a lot of grinders lately.
