They are the correct part number for alloy wheels (550-0104 is steel). The steel wheel sensor has a 40 degree angle, which may fit better. Was hoping someone had installed TPMS sensors on their wheels and had some advice. I have seen other posts where people have "reused sensors from original wheel" and everything was fine; it just looked strange to me. I guess if i can get the tire on, then it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the response.

Direct is the cheapest, but inventory may be limited. There are a few dealers listed on the SCS website under FAQs that stock them but at a premium

Just orderd the F5's 16x8, 4.5bs in matte gun metal; super excited for these to arrive. I'm still running the stock GY tires which went bald 5K miles ago...now I just need to decide between the Cooper ST Maxx and STT Pros in 265/75. Logic says the ST Maxx, but I'm really trying to justify the Pros. Will share some pics when everything arrives...

Sorry if this has been covered, but I tried searching this thread for a couple hours trying to answer my own questions. Seems like a few are having issues with the tires getting banged up by the tire installation.
    - Will the local Discount Tire shop know to use these type of weights vs. the standard weights usually clipped to the front edge of the wheel? I would assume so, but you know what they say. Can someone point me to some info on what are these are called so I can confirm they'll use them?
    - Sounds like I also need to confirm they won't use a front cone mounting system, vs. back coning or a pin plate adapter...whatever that means :)

I'm clueless on the subject of mounting and balancing tires, I just want to make sure I know what to know so my new F5's don't get balanced with old school weights or all banged up in the process. Thanks all,

Man, those look really great. I went with the 4.5 BS, but your pics sealed the deal with choosing gun metal vs black on a silver TuRD.

I had discount tire mount BFG KAO2 265/70 17 last Friday, and 3 of the five wheels have around 20 weights. They tried rebalancing when I said something but same result. I have a pretty serious steering wheel shake at 55-60 MPH and then another around 70. I am really disappointed and frustrated because the rims look so good. Anyone have any suggestions. My old rims and tires had a slight shake around 70 that went away when the tires warmed up.

Is your truck lifted? Sounds like a drive line vibe, that's the sweet spot for them.

2" lift. Although I'm pretty sure it's definitely the wheels as that was all that changed from Friday morning to Friday afternoon. Driveline was fine in the morning.

Do the other 2 wheels have any weights on them?

Yeah, like 3 or 4 weights on two of the wheels. The guy didn't seem too concerned with all the weights; told me "Toyota's sometimes take a lot of weights." At that point I didn't figure talking anymore was gonna get me anywhere. Maybe I need to road force balance?

Maybe I dunno. My trucks basically always had a little shimmy between those mph ranges.

Anything above or below and it's smooth as butter.

Thanks. Maybe I'll just get used to it. I would rather have butter though.

I agree! I chalked mine up to drive line vibe because I'm pretty sure that's it.

You could always try to rotate front to back and see if that helps.

Have your tire installer check each tire to see if it's out of round. We've seen brand new tires as well as used tires that's out of round. This will cause some vibration issue. For the best tire/wheel balancing method, we recommend you take wheel/tire to a shop that can perform Road Force balancing. This method will cost your a little more than the traditional way but it will be the best method to get your wheel/tire balance properly.
