eh. i can confirm a toyota v6 can run on just 3 cylinders. so why not that one too

 

I had the cruiser running on a solid two at one point haha.

 

well thats a cruiser. somehow toyota can make a damn cruiser run on no cylinders.

literally japans Tank toyota built there.

13 big and one small. Seems like a lot until you remember there are guys running 40psi of boost through these and they aren't diesel haha

 

Yeah wow really? 40 lbs and stock internals? Thing is made to be boosted

 

Most we've seen someone put though a stock bottom end on these was 800hp. They have factory forged internals. It's the most cheap little Nissan engine to find in a junkyard or on eBay and they're all strong as hell. Came in the Ford Windstar and mercury villager as well as Nissan quest, z31 300zx, Pathfinders, xterras, Infiniti qx4, m30, Maxima, d21 pickups... You can build a monster for cheap out of them and parts are plentiful for the engine itself. I've spent very little on this engine, it's the rest if the car that's costing me money haha

 

We're talking about their 3.0? I never realized it was the same engine. Wow

 

Forged internals stock? Tells you the engineers cared about that engine. I'll have to do a bit of research(reading lol) on it. You've piqued my interest

 

Thats the VG30E, VG30ET, and VG33E for ya. The VG30DE and DETT found in the z32 300zx is different although the bottom end was the same.

 

How much boost cat the 5vz handle stock? 12psi?

 

Not a whole lot on a turbo.. the torque these engines make destroys the crank and rods. 12s probably pushing it with a turbo.
Hence why I have pauter rods and a forged crank from a 93 Camry 3vz-fe

 

But what about on a supercharger?
