with no lift I couldn't turn at all I hit front bumper hard and cab mount with no wheel spacers, I lifted did wheel spacers and I hit nothing plenty of room even when stuffed

I have a simple request from any of you guys here. I have a 2016 Access Cab SR 4x4, stock size tire, 16in steelies and suspension. Can anyone of you with the same set up measure from the ground to the front fender, centered on the middle of the hub on both sides? I just finished installing the demello aluminum winch bumper and warn m8000 winch and forgot to take the measurement before I installed to make sure it didn't lower the front too much.

New to Tacoma World, so not sure if this is the correct way to post, but I'm looking for some seasoned ears to tell me if my new Tacoma SR 2018 engine sounds 'normal'. Dealership checked it out and says it is, but... it's the dealership... listened to other 4 cyl Tacoma's and did no hear the same 'knocking' 'clanking' sounds..

Will be peace of mind for someone other than the Toyota tell me that it's 'normal'.

 

Stock uca, Pro comp 2.25” leveling kit up front, Low Range OffRoad 1” block in the rear. Bilstein 5100 in rear only. Cooper ST Maxx 235/85/16 (31.9”). No rubbing anywhere no CMC. Oh this is also a 2WD so I don’t have to worry about needle bearings also I have no issues with alignments.

 

My 2016 SR 2wd has heated mirrors.

I can't tell what part of the ruck that is in the video. From what area on the truck are you measuring that sound?
Doesn't sound normal to me, but if you're doing it from under the hood, anything is possibly 'normal'. Definitely should not hear that from inside the cab.

 

Looks like camera was pointing at the fuse box. All that noise in the video just sounds like your typical direct injection 4cyl. They are ticky AF. Especially when you listen from under the hood. @Ttthawaii

 

Looks like under the hood, driver’s side.
I can’t remember hearing that on my 09’ or my father’s 19’.

 

I think he is refering to the knocking in the background.

Maybe he could go to the dealership and listen to another one in the lot to compare.

 

If you open the hood and listen, any engine and it's various accessory parts makes an abundance of sounds. We usually don't focus or obsess on them, they're just kinda accepted as background noise. But, if you point a microphone somewhere and concentrate on what you're hearing, well, then you can think something is abnormal.

 

My 4cyl with 35k sounds like that.... it does sounds normal to me...

 

Seems like the camera microphone is probably picking up and magnifying the engine noises he's hearing. Still sounds totally normal for these DIT engines. Something I had to get used to since I'm more used to working on turbo'd subarus. That kind of ticking from a STi means engine rebuild. lol
