That's interesting. And seems easy enough for diy install.
    I'll look into that.
    Thanks!

I don't see any sag so far, even when loaded with gear for camping. My concern is "no bow" on the springs.
I'm not sure if I should be worried about it.

Thanks! That's what I was wondering - should I do it, because "you need to do it" once you put the shell, sleeping platform, etc.
Or if the back doesn't sag - don't worry about it.

I should add that I am not planning on taking the shell, nor storage system/sleeping platform off the truck for daily driving. I just empty the drawers.

That’s where I picked mine up from. I’ve looked all over and they were the best deal. I did see some that locked fully open, but I lost the page.

Amazon is where we bought ones for my son's 4runner. I can't remember the company ( I think it was ferguson or something similar ). The ones he got have a 400# fill extension rating. His had them for a couple years with no problems.

My current signature shows the truck as it is, no added suspension.

    That said:
I had an oil change at a dealer when I was on a road trip. I was really grateful as they fit me into their 'full' schedule. I had a Thule box full, and a bunch of stuff in the back, as well as stuff behind the front seats, access area.
One guy was filling out the paperwork, and another guy walked by and said, "That won't work". Meaning they would not beable to do the lift with so much weight, and what he called sag. The guy ignored him. I asked if it is an issue. He stepped up and bounced on the bumper, and said "No Problem".

I have had my mechanic look at the bounce, springs, and shocks. He said I am fine. My truck as is takes speedbumps better than the Subaru. Duh!

Great idea. I have a 18w foldable solar panel. I've used it to charge phones.

I would be fine with that for a short trip, but I wanted something that was there and ready to go. Not messing with batteries and such.
I bought a led ribbon off Amazon and attached it to flat stock running inside my cap. Between all the supplies I have maybe $40 into it and am very happy.

What I have studied on the solar charging subject before I bought my Anker 21 Solar ... It is better to charge a battery then charge the device with the battery. It can possibly damage the device with the fluctuating power when connected directly. Something like that.

Just bought a anker 21000 bank. I'll charge to that then use that to charge phones.

Credit goes to @tacomarin after i blew my load on two sets for $750 elsewhere. He showed me the way. Currently building the new drawer with the Orr & Orr slides. I'll drop updates when that's done.
