Hey guys, I just recently purchased a 2011 Double Cab and was hoping I could get some insight on what kind of lift would be the best option to choose. I’m new to all of this and would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks guys.

    Like, so many.
That's a tall lift for a Tacoma and 35s will certainly present some issues. Better do a boat load of research before you start down that path.

Tacomas are different than a typical truck like a full-sized f250, It's not as simple as just jacking it up half a foot and throwing 35s on

You have to consider cutting, regearing, offset, ect. Probably more that someone with experience could tell you

That's why there isn't that many of them

So would maybe a smaller lift require less adjustment? Like a 3”?

Yea, however, if you go over 2.5 in of lift you are going to need new upper control arms (UCAs) and a lot of people suggest getting them for anything over 2 inches

To run 35s you'll need to do a ton of cutting and a maybe regear to make the truck daily drivable again.

the majority run a 33 inch tire or a 32 inch tire with different width and sidewall specs

Stick with 3" or less on the lift and no bigger than 33" tires and wheels with no less than 0 offset and you should be trouble free. I'm at 3" with the King 2.5 OR suspension with 33s and -12 offset wheels and I had to do a cab mount chop (wish I'd gone with 0 offset) Also regearing is not necessary if you stick with 33s and you'll have less issues overall by not overburdening your truck with 35s.

6" drop bracket lift with 35s on the Tundra for comparison

I've got 33s with a 2 inch level and 0 offset wheels. I did the CMC and pinch weld and have had no issues.

Here's a 2011. Billstien 5100's. OME 887 coils. Deavers 2" AAL. Cab mount chopped. Pinch weld cut off and mig welded. 0 offset wheels. 285/75r16 Cooper STT PROs. (33")

I get roughly. 2-1/4" front lift with the (aluminum) bumper and winch. No aftermarket UCAs. Great alignment numbers. Rides and drives great. Closing in on 90k miles since install. Zero regrets.

    No rubbing.
