TACO GARAGE - Dashtop Multi Mount (DMM) CLEAN and SOLID Tacoma accessory mounting

Here’s a peak into the upcoming power module....
All it needs is 12v!
This is obviously just a prototype, the real version would be all black and I still have to add some tabs or something to bolt it to the DMM, as you can see it is pretty small, I want to keep the clean look. A larger 2-port version will come out later. I have to get this one out first.

 

Will this power module be available as a separate purchase to install into an existing DMM? I was planning to wait until the power module-equipped DMM was available but I am quite eager to add this to my truck, module or not.

 

Might want to recommend these right angle chargers.

 

I’m attempting to contact TacoGarage. I tried to cancel a order an get a refund and it showed up anyways, trying to contact him about a return and refund, still can’t get in contact with him. I’m going to continue but I have a multi mount if someone wants I’ll pay shipping $50 PayPal me if interested it’s still in the box.

 

I haven't heard from him in a few days either. Im sure he's busy with the holidays coming up. I haven't received my refund for ordering additional accessories and was told he'd look into it. Im sure he'll get back to us soon. Has anyone else not received their refund yet either?

 

I'll take it if someone can confirm what bolt I'll need to add a ram ball. Looks smaller than 1/4-20

The ram mount arms fit on his one inch ball I can confirm that for sure

 

Yes the DMM uses 10-32 thread pattern for all its hardware.
Its small because that way you don't need huge holes on your dash and fine threaded so that the thin profile still provides a strong grip.

Yes it will be available for purchase separately and it will work with any previous version of the DMM

Just ordered a DSM and DMM to try out in my truck in a couple different ways. Pretty excited to try them out! I’m excited to check out the power mod in the future also

 

Got mine last week. Wanted to do video of install. I did the install in the dark, so video looks kinda like a bad horror movie. But I can confirm that install is simple enough to do in the dark.

The mount is rock solid, no movement at all. Even on rough terrain, holds phone very still.

The only thing I would say is, the base for the 1 inch ball needs to be painted, or powder coated. It sort of sticks out. A minor thing, I know. Overall very pleased. Thanks.

 

For those that don’t have the clamps like OP has, I used these that were about $13 from Lowe’s for a pair. Worked great and the rubber pads were small enough and reduced the risk of scratching anything.

I agree that the balls will look better if coated, unfortunately it adds cost, and I believe most people don’t mind, I will look into the price of coating them and maybe offer both styles....

 

Just installed my mount. Looks and works good. Very happy with the product.
I did have a problem with the install. 3 of the mounting nut needed to have a tap run through them. I was not able to run the mounting bolt in there without cleaning up the threads.
