    Hey guys,

I've searched around and can't find anything on the situation. If there is a link just post it in here.

BUT, tonight I was taking out my audio system and putting everything back to stock. I got to the end and plugged everything back up and ONLY my front speakers are not working. Do any of you guys have any idea what could be the cause or a fix?

I checked door fuses, I checked all the plugs, there are no wires loose or frayed within sight I checked the back of the unit multiple times and everything is secure.

I'm supposed to trade the truck in tomorrow and I'm trying to sort this out!

As I was typing this a thought came to me that....I currently do not have any tweeters plugged up. Is the front part of the stereo on some sort of circuit? If the tweeters are not plugged in will the speakers not work? I don't know if that is a stupid idea or not, I'm just racking my brain on possibilities because the rear speakers are working fine.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I even went to Walmart and bought some cheap Sosche speakers and tried plugging them up just in case the stock ones got messed up some how from being stored or something and they didn't work either...

It would help to know what was installed before “switching out to stock”.
    Amps? Headunits?
Stupid question..have you checked the fader?

Ah okay, well I had two amps, sub and front and rear door speakers. Stock headunit. I ran all new wires to the doors so I just tucked the stock plugs into the door foam.

Yea I didn't think that would matter but hey...who knows! Haha!! Also, actually not a dumb question because thats the first place I looked when no sound was coming out :frusty:

the front door speakers are tied in with the dash tweeters. They all need to be plugged in.

On a scale of 1 - 1,000 how certain are you on that?! Because that would solve everything and my mind can stop running laps hahaha! My plan was to just swap the tweeters out tomorrow anyway between the trucks.

I know the front speaker outputs come up to the tweeter, the. Down to the door. but(going off memory) they jump over in the wireharness and doesn’t matter if the tweeter is connectors or not?

I recall from the Crutchfield instructions...They made a note that the four front speakers need to be all plugged in.

You are correct, the teeeter connector is 4 Separate pins for some reason I was thinking they were doubled up in parallel. So without the tweeter plugged in it will not complete circuit and jump audio down to the front speakers here is a picture

I don't know :anonymous:...I know my Alpine speakers and tweets I ran two separate sets of wires but I know those are WAY different than stock....it crossed my mind that maybe with stock it's all together..

I don't know..I never thought to test the stock speakers when pulling them out without tweets to see if they worked o_O WHO KNEW! Hahah
