I made a dust collector and bought a 5 gallon tub from Lowe's. It was weak and when hooked up to the vacuum it would cave in. I went to grab some stuff from my parents and it was sitting there in the garage. It was a lot stronger, so I took it. It's solid and doesn't cave.

Yeah. The light bar wasn't a priority. Seemed like it was a little better than the cheaper Chinese stuff. So I figured I'll try it out. First truck. Just prioritizing funds to other stuff. Read mostly good things about it.

    Chris,

how hard was the remote start install? was it just pulling side panels and such? Do you have push button start/AT?

Pretty easy. Just some parts were annoying. Can be done in under 15 minutes. Some will remove the door sills and remove the 3 screws underneath the steering wheel. Most remove 2 without removing the door sill protector and let the panel hang. Don't close the door with it hanging. It wedges and I think it could bend the end of the paneling. I do have the push button. It's just 2 connectors you pull and plug into the harness. Then plug the 2 from harness back. Instead of doing all this in the panel, do it underneath. I did it inside undid it and ran it behind everything. A lot of space behind the ECU. Kind of just tucked the wires and wedge the bundled up harness in there. It really is simple. Watch the video. Instructions from the paper they send could be better. Can be confusing because the pictures and words are seperate to different pages. Then letter references are thrown around so you have multiple A, B, and C. Could use some more clarification and distinguish them. Like H1, H2 to reference harness. E1, E2 for ECU. M1 module... The hardest part was putting the lower paneling back. With the one screw still secure I had to pull and manipulate it to fit back in the slots. Also the lower part has to click/latch around the knee airbags. I think that's what it was. Didn't really look. But get it around the part first before pushing in the top.

I installed a remote start on my 2017 TRD Sport. It is a push button start. I used a 12Volt plug and play module. Only had to remove the knee panel below the steering wheel to make the plug connections. End State is the ability to use the factory key fob to remotely start the truck.

Only con is that you're limited to factory remote distance. Sometimes I'm nowhere near mine.

Same for mine. I have remote start on mine and sometimes I'm not even far and it doesn't even register

True on the limits of factory fob. Highspeed apps that work through cell networks give you the unlimited range.

I've been seeing people experience reliability issues. Servers being down and stuff. Then I'm too cheap to pay for monthly/yearly service. The good thing is I'm within distance from my bedroom. The only other place I would want to remote start is work. Work doesn't allow cell phones. So someone would have to offer service available via browser and work would have to not have the site blocked. It's one of those secured facility type things...
