We have an automatic feeder for Jean-Luc. He doesn't wait by it, but when the audio recording plays, he perks up and runs to it. We can adjust the amount he gets, as well as how often. Mr. Fatty is going to get another reduction soon!

Hey guys, I need some help. Have you guys ever used paw wax? I just moved into a new neighborhood about a month ago and there's a tom cat that lives in the area. He is well fed, and has no owner, but everyone here feeds and absolutely adores him. During warm weather he is quite outgoing and vocal; he will come to the door or run in the garage when you're pulling in for some love and food. Unfortunately, we've had some bad weather recently. I know he's still out there, but I haven't physically seen him in about a week. We had snow so I'd see if he was leaving fresh footprints, and I keep food outside the door, but now there's no snow as an indicator, and we have that polar vortex coming through tonight. He won't come when I call like he does when it's warm, so I figure he's found a hiding spot under a porch or something, but I'd love to be able to bring him into the garage since it's semi-heated and put a heating pad or something in there for him. I'd bring him in the house if I knew he wasn't a carrier or anything like that; hell, I'd adopt him if the rest of the neighborhood didn't love him and he wasn't so acclimated to living outside already. But I'm thinking when it warms up this weekend and he comes around, it'd be nice to give his feet some protection. He already kinda walks like the pads of his feet are messed up. This is the stuff: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWMGOC...olid=34XRQSPDN36BG&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I'm hesitant to buy it because it's so expensive, but I hate not being able to do anything for the poor thing. If you've used it or anything like it, let me know what you think. We plan on building him a small shelter in the future, but it's not an option at the moment.
Anyways, this is him, I call him buddy:

No advice either but from experience cats usually hate having stuff being out on the paws. So awesome of you wanting to keep him safe with the cold front coming in. Hope everyone stays safe and warm until better weather comes your way.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!!! I got sick over the holidays and it sucked - 2 weeks!!! I don’t know if it’s just a car thing in general but when I’m sick or hurt my cats are glued to my side. They definitely have the ability to heal the body and mind.

Wonder if he will get anxiety by morning? I will say though...it would be hard to get used to living inside when you have tons of open space and then you get boxed up in a house. But warmth helps in this situation. I think he'll come around to knowing you arent trying to hurt him!

We will probably let him out in the morning. Got out a litter box from our late cats but don't know if he ever used one.

    Awe, he looks so warm.

Drove around at 2am looking for the neighborhood cat; probably looked a little shady lol. Couldn't find him. He hasn't eaten any food off the porch either :/ but from here on out it gets warmer, so hopefully he made it though. I'm sure he was probably holed up somewhere out of the wind.
