For those who have an old friend (about 100lbs), what do you use to help them up into your truck e.g. ramp, steps, etc.

Just trying to make it easier on his old joints.

Have one of the little fluffballs myself. How do you deal with the fur in the cabin? I thought GSDs were bad until my American Eskimo came home.

I got one of the Weathertech rear seat protectors. It works well, but is definitely not worth the money. I thought it would be more custom fitted, like their floor mats, but it's pretty generic.

    https://www.weathertech.com/toyota/2017/tacoma/seat-protectors/toyota-tacoma-cab/double-cab/

Aside from that, we have her "shaved" down to the short undercoat. I always refused to do it, until my wife insisted (the hair was driving her nuts). That, along with regular brushing is all you can do. I swear, my dog puts more energy into growing hair than anything else. The struggle is real!

Here's the one and only true solution...

My dog stays at my ex wifes house since i have an apartment.
So last saturday i go see my son for the day have a lot of fun, i always bring my son sammy and dog Jo toys and give Jo a bath and feed him his own whole chicken, my son will only eat chicken nuggets, its kfc nuggets for sammy.

Anyway my dog is always happier when i arrive and sadder when i leave. Its an 8 hour drive up and back.

About 1/2 a mile away is the jungle. (thailand) there is all kinds of snakes ect. I get a call from the ex at 9pm. i left saturday it is now monday, did you take Jo? Umm no. He isn't around? no we haven't seen him.

Ok ill come up in the morning if he is not back. Jo is SMART. He was a street dog before i got him. Opens water bottles, steals food, crosses the road so good, i yell my son if Jo doesn't cross the road you don't. Jo is smart and a survivor, so if he isn't home he can't get home, something is wrong.

Jo didn't show up, so i drive up and head for the jungle, if he hears my truck or alarm he will come to the truck.

I stop at the first house, show a pic no one has seen him, most people know Jo. The guy makes a chopping motion then like skin is being pulled off, then stirring soup and eating and laughs. I made a gun shape with my hand, said ill kill someone
He knew i was serious so i drive down into the jungle on an elevated dirt mound just wide enough for the truck.

I stop another guy, show him the pic, he said yes. Im thinking sh*t he is going to bring me to my dogs skin, i said if alive , 2,000 baht i give you. About 1 weeks pay, i said if dead im killing someone. We drive down a couple of roads and stop at a soup shop, im thinking so theses are the people im going to kill, i show a pic she nods yes and points down the road. (No one had to be killed at the soup shop)

We drive down the road and i see a dog on the side of the road not moving, oh man this sucks. The Jo hears the truck lifts his head, i get out he kind of stands up and falls over. I check him out, he is super hot, blood from mouth and doesn't look to have ben hit by a car. I check bones, look for more bleeding ect, push on him a bit nothing is broken. I pick him up no yelping, so its looking better. Put him in the truck. Off to the vet he checks out ok not hit by a car, i know he is dehydrated i have runny poo on my arms, shirt i now smell better than normal. I buy cold water and wet a towel to cool him down with the ac blowing on him. We stop for lunch i got enough for a whopper meal, no regular burgers just whoppers. Jo only eats meat and rice, no bread or fries at all won't eat it. He eats the meat i now have a vegetarian whopper yuuuuum.

His pads are almost worn off he would stand and then go down and hit his face, that's the blood. So Dr dad fixes him up. Glad i have my bug out bag with medical stuff. Here is my new design for dog shoes. I cut foam for the bottom so he can walk and its soft. Looks like that is all the damage is his paws from running so far.

As long as the dog is in or around the truck this thread should be good. Please, no dogs under trucks...
