    Gen 1 DC 2.7liter Prerunner. I'm getting it ready to tow a light travel trailer, and after research, I've settled on a
    $248 Derale 13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Cooler , Black
    Derale 13950 remote transmission oil cooler. It's about 13X9X4 inches, but I can't find a suitable place to mount it. No room in front of the radiator. Any ideas out there?

    Mines in front of the radiator it’s 11x11x1.5 on my 3.4 auto. I would think if you turned the cooler so that the 13” side is vertical and the 9” side is horizontal it would fit with some minor cutting.

    There's not much room in front of the radiator, so I was saving that location for an electric fan in case it's needed. So I was looking for another location.

    Fair enough. I’ve seen them mounted under the vehicle next to the trans but I’m not sure that would work on an off road vehicle but maybe.

    that kit is probably a bit of overkill. Hayden makes a unit that will fit in front of the AC condenser but it requires some work. The grill has to come off, the hood latch support has to be loosened and the fluid lines have to be run. You can run the lines through the opening that the AC hardlines are run but again, it takes some time. Hayden also makes a high temp trans fluid line that is the correct inner diameter. Some people do not like mounting the cooler to the ac condensor / radiator using the plastic thru the fin mounts.

    Depending on who you ask you will get different opinions on how to run the lines... through the radiator first and then through the external cooler or the other way around. One other thing to think about is what condition is the fan clutch in. The green colored fan clutch is the HD fan clucth. It "locks" at a lower temp and has less slippage so it pulls more air through the radiator.
