I have had my 95 Tacoma since 2000, over 200k miles on it....I have towed boats, gone on long road trips...road trip to paintball fields..it was my DD and only vehicle =. But I got married and started a family and the truck was not used as much as it should. I always managed to hold onto it though. Now after a off pretty intense off road trip with a bunch off neighborhood friends I have reignited my love for my little red truck....she was keeping up with newer Jeeps and Land Rovers..and I was 100% stock. I want to learn how to make my ride even better.

Welcome to TW:cheers:. Like you I have had my little mini truck for 20 years. It's pretty much part of the family at this point

Be careful, this place has a way of mysteriously taking more modification dollars than you expect

Here are a few places to poke around for some solid info

Language is a bit rich in this one but there's some good info in there

Thank you everyone for that warm welcome, and thanks for the links Jonyd182. I love the stance of your yota. That is kinda what I want to work toward...not crazy lifted but nice..how much lift is yours and what size tires are those?

    Anytime man.....happy hunting.

My tires depend on the year....

Sometime around 2005 I went from stock 31's to 33's.....I don't think I have any pictures of the 31's but basically it looks exactly like yours :)

    2010 -33x12.5 with trimmed fenders

    2012 - 33x12.5's sitting on a 2 inch lift

    2015 - 35x12.5 sitting on a 2 inch lift and a tubbed firewall

    2019 - 35x12.5's sitting on a 0.5 inch lift and a tubbed firewall

Sweet....I think I could do the 33s I love that it still looks sorta stock...but means business. That link said that the 35s means a bunch of mods and work. I cant afford that right now. When you went from the stock 31s to the 33s what mods did you have to do? Was the fender bob necessary...I hate cutting panels that cant go back to original....but I could probably get over it real quick if my truck sat like that.

You'll need a couple of additional mods to fit 33's with minimal rubbing and cutting. Especially if you go with 12.5 inches wide.

This is what I did to get them to fit with minor rubbing although your mileage may very. I would suggest purchasing one wheel and tire first to test fit as they can be difficult to return once you mount the tire.

    1. The Bushwacker cutout flares do exactly what they sound like. They cutout a bit of your fender before they go on which will give you a little more clearance...They'are amazing flares but pricey.
    2. I also upgraded my rims to 15x10 with 3.75 backspacing. The backspacing is critical to move the tire out and away from the truck. You can use wheel spacers but that kind of activity is often frowned upon around here.
    3. Finally, you need to do some minor hammering on the pinch weld and such

Just remember, if they don't fit you can always hammer more until they do.

    Good luck

I love those old Tacomas. That one's a time capsule right there. Don't go too crazy with it. Or do go too crazy with it. Nice rig!
