Cody’s Hunting Truck Build

This is my Tacoma, I bought it 4 years ago, bone stock! This is actually my 3rd tacoma, I had an 01, and a 09, this is by far my favorite out of the 3. I don’t do any rock crawling or truck trails, I pearly hunt with this truck, the purpose of my build is to make it a reliable hunting truck! It is not a pretty truck, definable could use some cosmetic attention, but again it’s my hunting rig.

I started off with a cheap lift from les shwab. Slowly I’m upgrading.

Suspension- daker springs and Bilstein 5100’s in the back, the front just has a puck on the top of the coil.

Armor- Tail gear bumper with a Warn winch.

Tires- Wrangler Authority’s.

I will post more pics and more little mods of the truck this week!

Soon I am going to be changing my timing belt, then I want to work on new rims, possibly a bed rack for spare tire, front suspension, rear bumper.

 

3 interior mods, temp control knobs (just for looks), double din stero (I love it) and the 2way radio! Works good for talking to hunting buddy’s.

Got some newer stock rims from a buddy, so decided to makem black.

Need to give my fenders some love, last season was ruff on them

 

I added some new tie down points for my action packer, I used some rivnuts, I got the idea from some guys on here. I want to put 2 Jerry cans next to it.

 

Also gave my fenders some touch ups!

 

Look what showed up tonight, hope to get them on this weekend!

Got a new fairlead for my winch I think it looks a lot better and it’s not so big and bulky!

Next I am looking at a couple new Jerry cans and some way to mount them in my bed, then new air compressor, battery jump pack, and new tires sometime around June probably.

 

Added another tie down point today. I was gunna get 2 jerry cans to go into this spot, but they would not fit, so I am just straping the crate in for my older gas cans and am going to go this route for now.

 

Picked up the genius gb20 battery jump pack today, way smaller than my last one. This is one tool I don’t leave home without, I go out by my self a lot. I will be bringing this one and my old one until this one proves to be good enough.

 

Nice build so far man! Looks like a really clean truck. I wish I my bed was a nice as yours. I need to make a build thread for my truck. Keep up the good progress.

So I wanted to test the strength of the GB20, so I disconnected the battery cables and tryed it as a stand alone battery and it started my truck with no issue at all!!

 

Just showed up in the mail, gunna be starting a new project for my tacoma this week that I am pretty darn excited about!!

 

Picked up some more material today!! Hopefully start welding on it this week! And then I will have better pictures!
