My neighbor and off-road buddy just traded in his older FJ and got a 2012 FJ. He has an aftermarket switch in the dash and some wiring in the engine bay that doesn’t seem to go anywhere or do anything. I think there may have been some lights installed prior but not sure.

Does anyone recognize this in the front passenger side of the engine bay?

    Thanks

Looks like a designated fuse box.

Similar looking recepticle was installed for a subwoofer in my car years ago.

That's interesting. I think he has another switch to turn a subwoofer on/off that is hooked up and works. So this may be wired and part of the sub/stereo. Still not sure on the other switch then, LOL. May need to pop it out and see if its even hooked up on the back end of the switch.

You need to see what's inside and trace those lines. They have to be going somewhere.
    Aftermarket lights?, Alarm system? Compressor?

The Red/Black go to the battery. I was able to trace those. The other two feel hollow, almost like a soft vacuum line and I couldn't see where they went.

That's insane, I'd never heard of something like that. You guys are awesome!!!! I'll let him know that's what it is and we probably still need to track down the other switch.

It was one thing I wish mine had.
I heard stories of cracking windshields. Thermal shock I guess.

I had a 2007 FJ for about a decade. Had 2 windshields crack in the winter when hit with washer fluid in freezing temps. Didn’t know they made fluid heaters!
