Just be super careful and pay attention to where your hands are when handling it...the old ones are brittle so when you handle it make sure your fingers are not on the accumulator plate.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I have another challenge (before I even get to the gaskets... Lol

I'm about 95% sure I have the correct locations for drilling.

    Here is the map

And here is what I think I'm supposed to drill

    The screwdriver is 2-3
    The pick is 3-4
    The exacto knife is 1-2

The orientation of the holes is exact on 2-3

But the orientation of the holes does not seem to be the same on 3-4 or 1-2 (there's not as many holes as there are on the map)

    Am I missing something?

It looks like the gasket is covering up some reference points.

EDIT: it’s not covering holes rather it’s making it look different. Removing the gasket will make it look just like the image. Be very careful.

Installed my CB with the help and use of tools of @xtremewlr.(thanks again buddy) Need to spend some time tuning it though. Wasn’t able to pick up any stations on the drive home.

How do you Identify what valve body you have, just go through the gasket stack till you find a match?

I have only swapped autos never disassembled one, I have no clue on where to start looking.

Ok... So 2-3 shift still looks right
The 2-3 hole looks different. Looks like the holes to the right are further up.
The 1-2 hole looks like it's in the right place but the hole above it isn't there.

Transgo includes images of all four. With all that it’s very easy to identify they type you have.

You positive you have the correct guide for your TB? Check the others over and see if you can find one that matches.

Almost fucked myself there... I was looking at the wrong hole for 3-4. Needed to move in towards the left.

Still seems like there is a hole missing above it. But the last pic I was pointing to the wrong hole. (With the pick)

Ok so there is no manf. code that you can get it from. Its all visual comparisons with the part in hand.

Is there a pro/con from one version to another?

Transgo told me there’s no way to tell until you get in there.

As far as differences go A few are mated to the 95-02 with the drop down cable. And the 03-04 ones are all electronic with solenoids.

However it’s possibe Toyota’s only come with one of two as the A340E has been used in Jeeps, supras, Tacoma’s, and I think USPS mail truck use them.

Here's the first page of the directions.

You have to identify which one you have. Mine happens to be #1

Because it's the only one with the inlet (or outlet not sure which) to the filter that's shaped like mine, of the 4 choices. There are other identifiers that confirm, but that's the most obvious.

I've done a mod or two
I have those leafs, pull the third overload or the third leaf depending on what you're looking for. You can also pull the third over load and the little baby first one.

I’d hold off, take pictures and send them to transgo to see what they say.

Thank you guys that is super helpful, and much appreciated. I will buy that and modify my V.B at home instead of spending extra to send it out! I originally thought that the shift kits available were just springs and didn't include valve body modifications.
