You would be surprised at the average auto shop customer... I’m surprised most drivers remember to breathe or blink...

That looks like it's in the roof and was fired from inside?? That had to be deafening.

I have an '02 Civic DD on which the previous owner cut the cable when they replaced the alternator. To fix this they spliced it back together using J-B Weld and a 3" piece of wire that was less than half the diameter of the original alternator cable. This created a fuse that melted all of it's own insulation and the loom on some ignition wiring. Fortunately the J-B Weld broke before the car caught on fire.

No picture. I was too busy shaking my head and thanking God it didn't catch on fire.

They also over-torqued every bolt on the valve cover which stripped out a couple of the threads, resulting in a very leaky valve cover and me having to drill and tap two of the bolts.

This joker replaced his old brake lines, zip tied them together, and didn't replace the old rusted out ones and just left them in place...

Well, at least he didn't use copper lines... yep, saw that on an old highway truck back in the 80's that had hydraulic brakes... my boss almost had a heart attack, when I asked if this looked right? I was an apprentice and with the joins and everything, I just asked. Tools down until the owner came in. big yelling match and he drove off.... it was in for service and brake adjustment... wierd what you remember...

This guy just came in for a state inspection and oil change, we found a nail in the LF, shifter linkage way loose (bushing gone), and then this on the RR.

He didn’t even complain about it, we found it on inspection and told him, and he was like “now that you mention it, I was getting a vibration from the back...”
