I guess my initial post didn't give you guys much to go off of. Just looking for someone/somewhere I can consult with questions regarding what brand to go with, what size is best for me, etc. Like I said, I don't know much at all about this. My truck is my daily driver that I use for work (painting business) with some moderate off-roading on the weekends to get to remote campsites. I don't need a crazy big lift, just something that'll allow me to run slightly bigger tires. I want something good, but don't need top of the line. I guess I didn't even consider that option of installing a lift myself. Is it pretty involved? I'm decently handy. Thanks for any input, guys. Sorry if my questions are confusing. Just trying to learn more and was curious if there was anywhere around me that could give me the run down.

Yeah I'm still a ways out before pulling the trigger on anything. Just trying to do all my research. Thanks.

Whats your budget, that will most likely dictate the type of system you will look at. For example, a spacer lift from toytec will be <$1K, OME 3" kit could be around $1K-$1.2K. King or Icon could be around $2K-$2.5K.
For your application, which is pretty close to what my Tacoma was used for, the OME kit was perfect. There are vendors on here that will be more than willing to help you out. Such as, Headstrong Offroad, Low Range Offroad, etc.

I would bet that if you found a lift kit you liked, there would be enough local people around to help you install.

It might be even worth setting up an install day to have multiple people put all their long delayed parts on. I have tons of tools but not a big space to work otherwise I would host one myself

I second that. I did my own and I'm a Toyota engineer with access to all of the schematics. I'd be glad to give you a hand!

    Nothing to brag about..., yet.
Hey everyone. I would be very interested in getting together for an install day to help out, and also get some feedback from some of you as well. I have a cv shaft that needs to be replaced and I want install the ECGS bushing when I am in there, and also want to go over my front end make sure everything is up to snuff. I have developed a weird sporadic jerk in my steering wheel and it has coincidentally popped up since I noticed the torn inner boot on my cv. Anyhow I am no expert mechanic, but have done all the work on my truck myself and love learning and sharing what I know with others. I am also a bit cramped for space at home so I don't have a garage or barn to offer up.

I've got the ECGS install tool, removal tool and seal if you need to buy one. I'm in TC so shipping shouldn't take long.

Have not been active recently on here. Drove the yota out west this summer and it didn't break a sweat. Anyways, I am currently in the process of taking a job transfer to Marquette. Wondering if any TW members live up there?

I love it up there, so much to do for outdoor recreation. Big difference coming from Brighton to Marquette. I work for UPS, there was a opening up there. Was like, why not?

Yeah. My mom runs a Toyota shop and there is a guy that has done quite a few. Located in Farmington Hills.
