I've been 3D printing as a hobby for about a year now. Over the past few weeks with my first taco I've printed a couple things. Figured I'd share them here and see if anyone else had 3D printed parts or ideas.

    For any fellow 3D printing nerds, I'm using a Prusa i3 MK3/MMU2.

I'm digging the airpod holder you got there along with the knife compartment.

Totally- lots of great info on /r/3Dprinting - as to which route to go with a printer, I'd say it really depends on whether or not you're a "tinkerer" or whether you just want to buy something prebuilt and ready to go. Personally I chose to build my own printer from a kit. Helped me to learn the mechanics which really helps troubleshooting down the road.

I'd highly recommend the Prusa printers as a kit: https://www.prusa3d.com/, they will run about $600-1000 depending on what you pick.

If you want something prebuilt you can still get a Prusa, but the first time you jam it (it'll happen eventually) you're going to be clueless how to fix it if you didn't build it.

I think the makerbots are really awesome but a lot more $$, probably less finicky than Prusa though.

I've also heard great things about the ender 3 (sub $250 I think) and CR-10 (sub $400).

For design, I'd highly recommend Fusion360, it's an autodesk product that is free for personal use. Very widely used in the 3D printing community. I learned on Solidworks in college but switched to F360 since its free and native on my Mac. Youtube has great tutorials on modeling and printing. Let me know how else I can help. It's a lot of fun.

send me a stock panel. I’ll 3d scan, then mock up a tweeter pod. I thought about this as well, but I would make it oversized so it’d be “universal” so any size tweeter can Be cut to fit. The finishing touch would be a press fit/flush grill to hide the speaker.

Check out free TinkerCad and EMachineshop . They both also let you order printouts online. I used the free EMachineshop app to design and have them lasercut my small “Prinsu” type rack for my ARE MX shell. TinkerCad is a good intro to CAD, and you can use it to make 3D printer files. AutoCAD is very complex for first time, try the others first.
