This was after we took the mirror off and started airing up.

    20190216_111714_HDR.jpg

Just gonna get an unpainted fender off rockauto and paint it best I can. Can get the fender and mirror for about 80 bucks, the rest is just touching up scratches. Oh and the turn signal housing got smashed lol. But that was already cracked from a previous hit, so was the mirror actually. Aside from the fender this was all stuff I needed to replace anyway I guess.

yeah...I feel like a dumbass lol. So completely avoidable but I guess everything is when you look back on it. I'm just glad it didn't happen on the snorkel side, that would have been 100x worse with the a-pillar mount

Can't bring myself to pull the trigger on one of these cheap aftermarket fenders...called Toyota and they can get me an OEM one by Wednesday for $450, fuck. Amazon has aftermarket knockoffs for $100, but spotty reviews.

Was going to buy one off Rockauto cause they're pretty good to deal with, but of course they won't ship fenders to CA now because of prop 65. Goddamn hippies

    Whole lotta stuff
See if you can find any online OEM retailers that are willing to ship/pickup in CA. Straight through dealer is always so expensive.

If not, since you beat on the truck, getting the knockoff's although not perfect would be a cheap replacement.

    Third option is fiberglass. :burnrubber:

haha yeah I thought about fiberglass actually, found a pair for cheaper than what one OEM fender cost. But...I already have the snorkel fitted on the other side and I don't really want to deal with taking that off and cutting another brand new fender. Plus I don't have LT so it wouldn't really make sense.

Yeah I'm going to pull the trigger on the aftermarket OE fender and hope it's not too terrible...no sense in dropping a bunch of money on OEM since I might just destroy it again who knows.

Nice, actually that first grey one has my eye...I saw that red one somewhere else, on car-part.com I think. Just wish it was a little cheaper lol. I bought some radiant red paint on Amazon since the hood and door took some damage so I can paint the grey. I'll shoot him a message thanks @itaro

Thanks, it sucks alright but it's really just an eyesore...truck still runs and drives as good as ever, wouldve been worse $$$ wise if I had blown my rear diff or something. Just painful to look at mostly lol.

Pretty much ordered everything I think I'll need so hopefully by next weekend it'll be restored to its former glory

Eh she wasn't pissed...At least for now we both work and make our own money so she just shook her head at the whole thing lol. I'm more pissed at myself than anything, but something like this was bound to happen sooner or later

    Doesn't look too terrible

    20190217_113935.jpg

Got the turn signal housing delivered today, paint and side mirror should be here tomorrow and fender on Wednesday. Assuming all goes well I should have her ready to hit the trails by next weekend :muscleflexing:

Got her all fixed up today, all the parts came in yesterday. Pretty happy with how it turned out, it isn't perfect but for doing it myself and only spending around $200, I think it came out pretty good. Long term I'm going to keep an eye out for a used OEM fender of the same color/trim but this will do for now

The aftermarket fender leaves a slightly larger gap between the fender and the hood which is about the only giveaway that it isn't OEM, aside from the DIY paint job lol. Which looks good from afar but OK from up close

lol, hopefully this doesn't happen again but it wasn't all that hard of a fix. Hardest part was painting it really. The fender was aftermarket and only $60, I hit up Toyota but they wanted almost $400 for an unpainted OEM one. No thanks lol. If I can find a used one that's in good condition for cheap I'll grab it and keep this one as a spare
