Plasti dip or vinyl wrap hood skewp? If you plasti dip should you take off the skewp or just tape and cover off the hood to no over spray

I'm sure this is vinyl, has anyone done this on an MGM with plastidip? This looks pretty nice.

looks pretty great! I'm considering going the same route instead of blacked out. How do you like it?

No regrets here. Getting ready to peel it off and redo it. I did it when it was cold out so I don't think it adhered that great. But so far it hasn't peeled up or scratched.

Dipped my 2018 TRD Off Road wheels today in black. Super easy and only used 2 cans of plasti dip. I taped the perimeter of the rims, the lug nuts and the air nozzles as well as taking off the center caps. Thoughts?

Hey guys -- new here, just picked up a 19 Sport in Quicksand. Couple of questions:
    • I've got the radar in the front emblem -- options here? I'm assuming I will just need to dip around that since the chrome is buried in the clear plastic.
    • What is everyone using for a pre-dip? I bought some cans but didn't get a pre-dip and would like to get going on the grill and wheels
    Thanks!

What is pre-dip? Just clean what you going to dip and do a light first coat and then wet coats after.

I'm assuming something like alcohol that evaps. A lot of the articles on the web reference it but doesn't say what it actually is.

I mean I guess if you want super duper adhesion, but it is not necessary. I had my chrome ring around the grill dipped for a year and it shows no signs of wear. Also my Tacoma side badges.

I dipped my middle part of the door handles, which were chrome. They turned out OK. I then did my Tacoma and V6 badges and they turned out great. The door handles and badges are holding up well after a few months. I'm thinking about the wheels and /or flares next. Undecided as of now.
