    They have indeed gone back to the bolt on front bearing retainer with the RC62F.

    I do not believe they are compatible. There was a company that was doing a machine repair on the housings for the RA60 transmissions. The trans mission had to be disassembled and the case sent in to them. they would machine the cast in nose out and build a new one in steel that would press into the housing and be retained with countersunk bolts. I looked into it with my FJ but could not justify the price they were asking.

    I’d ask your question in this thread. A lot of members in there have done the delete.

    This
    Did today, small adjustment makes a big difference!
    Did the accumulator delete few thousand miles ago, definitely helped but the adjustment made a bigger difference.
    The free play on mine was more like 10mm. Adjusted it to the bottom of the spec, 2mm.
    Much better feel

    The fun begins when your pre-frontal cortex takes over and you push the "clutch pedal" to the floor.

    Yep. I reserved a car, and when I showed up these are the keys I got...I'm not complaining.

    I look at it as a reset of your perspectives. It gives you the opportunity to appreciate what you got. I do this with beer and whiskey. Grab some low rent stuff from time to time to reset my expectation of the good stuff.

    To be honest this transmission is not that bad. For all the bitching I hear about it I was expecting it to be un drivable. But in all fairness it drives just like an auto should. Oddly enough it has the same power surge at 3500 rpm, but it is not as noticable in the auto, and just feels like a small downshift.

    Exactly. Every time I get a GM rental, they continue to remind me of the GM slushboxes (and the hate I had for them) growing up.

    Toyota ATs remind me of the same. The 2019 Corolla that I drove reminded me of the 2016 Camry, which reminded me of the 1990s Camrys, my ex-bosses 1st Gen 2wd Taco, and a person's 1st Gen Tundra that I drove. Always smooth shifting but numb. Although, I distinctly remember the very stretchy rubberband electronic throttle that Tundra had. I hated every second of it.

    I've never driven a 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen Taco AT.

    All in all, when I got back in one of our MTs or my bikes, I just get a bit of wood.

    Alright. Just read all 19 pages of the 5.29 thread. Still left some to be desires. So to try and word this the for the desired answers;

    For the TRD OR in MT, what tire sizes are best for the 4.88 gear knowing the transmission gears are different than the autos.
