After getting the adhesive backing off, use some Meguiar's ultimate compound around the area to blend it in.

Yes but it more than likely will buff out. Its really only a concern if you don’t own a buffer and may need to buy one or pay someone to buff the shadow out.
But any shadowing will be fixable.

I highly reccomend against using ultimate compound. That is a highly aggressive polish and one far betond what is necessary to fix any shadowing.
You can blow through your clear coat with that stuff.
I wouldn’t even use it by hand. Especially because the mediums most people use by hand (rags and microfiber) are highly aggressive.
You always use least aggressive method first then work up.

I have an '05, and removed the old TRD decal on the bed (and replaced with a newer style/shape factory decal), after the truck was 11-12 years old. After a compound/waxing there was no paint fade that was noticeable.

Thanks all for the feedback, I'll be sure to do some before/after once I pull the trigger!

Yes. yes, and yes again you are so correct. I very quickly went through the clear coat using that stuff and a DA polisher on a seemingly smallish blemish on the rear bed side. I was quite surprised about how quickly it was ruined. I had to have the entire bed side repainted and replace the decals. A bit $$ lesson.

Goo gone work great to get the badge residue off. I removed my badges 2010 also and i had the very most faint ghost line where the badges were. But i did mine to make the black57A40762-7841-4E14-A8D3-142465034F1E.jpg

Removing residual adhesive with a 3m rubber wheel and compound applied by hand has always worked for me but I would never recommend using compound with a power tool for scenarios like debadging. Meguiar's ultimate polish is less abrasive and can also be used if you are concern with clear coat damage.

    Maybe.

Depends on the color of the paint and how much it's lived in the sun.
