Which wheels do you put them on, the rear or the front? I have a set of Tred Pro.

Also, I'm not sure I can justify getting another set at $300. Any good "cheapies" for half that price?

    Thanks.

You could forego the $300 and try ingenuity, knowledge, and elbow grease.

@codemunky Sounds like you haven't used them yet. You use them on the wheels that aren't getting traction. I'd use them and learn to use them before deciding you need 2 more.

You really only need 4 for deep mud or deep sand, and even then can often get out with 2. You'll get out even easier with a winch in those cases.

I have these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AV2HONS/ - they work great.

I was about to use them in snow crud, but another truck offered to pull me out before I could use them. I also forgot I had KRAWL control.

    Working on them
I have used these "Go Treads" twice now on other folks stuck vehicles just this past week end on a friends car stuck in deep snow plowed pile snow and 3 months ago out on the trail for an stuck Jeep and they work great. I have a set of Maxtrax but they just take up too much darn space and I do not like how they can shoot out from under so easy they are $119 a set with a great warranty and you also can add to them make longer if wanted and use them as leveling blocks for camping. https://gotreads.com/

You put them on the wheels that are the most stuck.

I use rocks and branches I find nearby for essentially the same effect. = Free!

I like how the Go Treads can somewhat contour the surface. Plus they look foldable for storage and as mentioned above can level your rig for camping. Price won’t break the bank either. I’m gonna check them out!

I knew an old redneck lady that kept 4 cinder blocks and a hammer in the bed of her 4x4. Custom made traction, in situ.

Traction boards are a D-bag millennial invention.

$300 bucks can get you a decent winch, too.

Yeah but you can't double those up and use them as a ramp to go up and down rocks or over crevices.

Might want to research that a bit more there.

Unless by D-millennial you mean WWII vets.

Some of the earliest traction boards where surplus Marston mats for portable airfields during WWII
