Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Has anyone replaced their impeller needle bearings? I have mine apart and figured I would know because it seemed easy enough. At least easier than on the vehicle. Problem is that I put a blind hole bearing puller on them and feel like I am beating the crap out of them. I can’t seem to get them out. Any tips appreciated. I tried heat on the backside but not a lot.

    Did you get it yet?

I've been following this, but didn't post as I figured someone else had a better answer.

I've serviced the bearings on my 1st gen/1st gen supercharger. Mine came right out. But I've had good luck in the past freezing bearings, both for removal and install. If they're still stuck in there, put the whole housing in the freezer overnight. In the morning, get your blind hole puller, torch and everything else ready. Pull the housing out of the freezer, quickly hit the surrounding area of the housing with a torch and the bearing should fall or at least be easy to remove with the blind hole puller. Good luck!

Good call my friend. I will keep this in mind when I rebuild mine again.

    I pressed them out with a 10’ 3/8 extension and a socket.

Im hoping this trick will work for me. One of my needle bearings is gutted out completely and the steel rim gave through. So I’m freezing the whole housing tonight. And hit it with the heat gun tomorrow. I presume heat the aluminum surrounding it.

Yup! Heat everything around it. Not sure if the heat gun will suffice to transfer enough heat in a short enough time to get this to work, though. If the heat gun doesn't work, you might have to buy a cheap map gas torch. But I feel after having one in the shop for years, they are an indispensable tool to have around.
