My coworker and I have been tossing around the idea about building a table just the time to put it together

To weld that right the Cat needs to be dropped or removed that was not.

Sad and places like that wonder why they never get return business

I just dip the nozzle every couple mins when I’m welding. Extends the life of my contact tips and they don’t get gunked up nearly as much!

Myself I like the spray better then if your by yourself it is not bad with the dip.

Seems so many leave the lid off and the whole shop aims the grinder sparks into the nozzle jell.

I just use plain old Crysco. Much, much cheaper.

Regardless, if you do buy the nozzle dip, it will last a lifetime.

I have been using it. Does seem to help. And it will last forever. It prolongs cleaning the tip forsure.

Yup, in my welding class we had 10 students running MIG and dual shield M-F 8-4:30 for a semester, barely made a dent in the small tubs that the school bought.

I think i've had my tub of dip for well over 5 years, and I have the spray too, but I use the spray for something else entirely, back before MIG, I'd spray my work, then the splatter from the flux core would not stick as much, made cleanup a breeze.

    I use tip dip also.

Be careful - it can (and does!) catch on fire sometimes.

I am sure I had too big of a glob - but it just burned out, no harm no foul.

I really don`t seem to have any problems I just tap the nozzle on the side once in a while. I am sure I have both the Jell and some spray around some place .

I think it comes more into play in production then what I do anymore.

So I’ve got a little Lincoln welder I got from Home Depot a while back similar to this one:

Lincoln Electric Easy MIG 180 Flux-Core/MIG Welder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M17905T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3m5BCbETT76J1

I’ve mostly fooled around making steel sculptures and other art with it, but also some functional / structural stuff around the house, 2” trailer hitch etc.

I’d really like to start welding aluminum and wondering if there’s a decent push pull spool gun that’ll work with it.

What do you guys think? I don’t have the means to drop a lot of cash on a new welder, especially as a very part time hobbyist.
