I used to work in at a junk yard, had this problem really bad with my old saturn. There was tons of metal dust in the air from all the cutting and smashing of cars.

Be aware it isn't something they can warranty - considered "outside influence". Like others have said, get some Iron X and do it once a year along with clay, wax/ seal and be done with it. Just regular maintenance for your paint..

Nice. I didn't say they wouldn't take care of it, just that it wasn't a warranty matter. Likely the dealer took care of it "in house" and didn't put in a warranty claim.

It's been stated, but it's called rail dust. Just ran into this issue on my wife's brand new car. Wash and clay bar your car. Use a medium or heavy clay bar. Then follow up with an iron remover product like Iron X. Then seal the paint with sealant or wax of your choice. They're a pain to remove if they're all over the truck. You'll just have to put in a lot of elbow grease. Took me a total of 6 hours to wash, clay bar, iron remove, and seal with 3D Poxy. I really should've did a minor polish or All-In-One before sealing but I had an emergency I had to attend.

I'll try the 3M next time. There's a local Chemical Guy's store in my town so I ran there first. Since they had a heavy grade, I picked that up and it worked fine. I've tried the Mother's from the auto stores and they're too light for rail dust.

Yea, CG offers the standard Yellow, which I tried and did nothing. Stepped up to the heavy, which is black, with some lube and the rail dust came right off.
