If it is truly coming from the back I would like to know how you figured. The situation you described was exactly what I experienced, almost like driving on small cobblestone road. Felt it a lot in the top of the steering wheel. ECGS fixes it. If it is your diff then it may be the howl problem many people experience because some have said that causes a vibration. There is a tsb for updated leaf packs as well for some model/years

To clarify, what I felt was similar to yours but only felt primarily through the seat, passenger and rear passengers can feel it too. Dealer checked and said there were no TSB’s for my VIN (build date is 8/18).

I've got the same problem with mine and it was/is a nightmare. My new 2019 only has 1000 miles on it (I put that 1000 miles in just a week because I travel alot) and its in the shop for the second time with the same problem - vibrations in the steering wheel with braking at about the 20 mph mark. The first trip they replaced the whole rear axle bc it was a problem with the 2017-18 that some parts carried over to the 2019 models I was told. The day I got it out of the shop, I called them back and told them the problem still existed. Toyota told them to replace the driveshaft so it comes in tomorrow and they'll get in fixed and back to me by the end of the day. I told them that if I had to come back a third time, they would have to replace the truck with a new one just like it because I'm not dealing with this on a new truck. It sucks because I've ALWAYS wanted a Tacoma and my first experience hasn't been pleasant. Otherwise I LOVE the truck. Hoefully the new drive shaft will fix it.
