Haha! I was in the Navy for a while and was out in CA for a good bit, took orders to millington which is north of Memphis just to get closer to home.

Lots of people like both. I've had good experiences with Cooper's. Not sure if those are your only options but Cooper also makes the Mickey Thompson brand... The Deegan A/Ts look pretty nice and are very reasonably priced with sexy raised white lettering to boot.

The more I look at the Terra grapples the less I like them it seems.. I went to a local tire place and said hey. What can you get in this size. The bfg's are just too damn high.. Toyo. Cooper at 3 and falken are all pretty close in price.. After looking up the cooper's. I'm not sure which one he quoted me on. The card just says Cooper A/T3

I'm with you on the BFGs... Love them but just not worth the extra $$$, IMO. Those are all popular/highly rated options. Wonder if they could get you Hankook Dynapro ATMs... People rave about those and they might be even less than those other options. I'm thinking of picking those up when I change mine.

I can speak for the hankooks. They are a good tire. I’ve had two sets of them and no problem at all.

Check out Goodyear Ultraterrains, only sold at Discount Tire. In pictures they're not all that exciting but in person they really stood out to me!

In a stock Tacoma size.... I do like the General Grabber AT2s. Some aggression, looks good, priced good, and relatively quiet.

They aren't mud tires though. They also don't come in the tall skinny size. I'm probably going to a 255/85R16 in either Cooper ST Maxx or Toyo MTs. I'll probably only go with the Toyos if I go with lift. Not many options in this size though.

Tires all the way. My Sport wheels didnt look great with the stock tires but now that I have KO2s on them they look amazing and I have no real.interest in changing out the wheels.

I’d say tires. The 4Runner wheels look pretty good on the sr5 IMO. Throwing AT tires on there will give you a more aggressive look and more capability. Save up for a lift. Personally not a fan of aftermarket wheels unless they are truely an upgrade

No regrets. Yes, more $$$ but they're always in stock at a shop near you - wherever that is. Living in Nevada we don't have much mud but lots of snow and sharp stuff. With the snowflake symbol, accessibility, and durability being absolutely-must-have, the KO2 A/T was a no-contest winner.

The 5th gen 4Runner OR rims don't look that good on the Tacoma. SR5 rims actually look better on the Tacoma.
