Try wire wrapping bread boards with 200+ connections. Sort of a hazing in my undergraduate years. Debugging the inevitable ‘single’ mistake was even worse.

I finally managed to finish some harnesses and will begin selling them with a new oem knob at www.tacomods.com ($110). I have a very limited number of new knobs so when they’re gone, they’re gone.

At some point I will offer a kit which would include you sending me your shift knob, I’ll modify it and install a button, then send it back to you with a wiring harness ($75). This is still a few weeks away though.

I’m also planning on making a kit with a TRD PRO knob, but it also is a few weeks out.

Also planning on making an installation video. The installation is actually very simple. All the trim pieces that you will need to remove just pull off. You will just need a drill, or soldering iron, to make a larger hole in the bezel between the knob and boot.

Thank you for contributing this to the community. What an awesome Mod. I'm going to patiently wait for the Pro Knob version.

It works effortlessly. You no longer have to fumble around searching for the dash button. One of my favorite mods. Thanks , Rex .

    Heck,

You could probably charge the same price and people would pay the 'upcharge' for no labor just to get it done faster. $75 might be a little steep for just parts. But, $75 for in my hands now, or $75 for send my shifter off for 1-2 weeks? I'd probably opt for in my hand now.

If this relocation kit is installed, can the factory ECT button be removed ?
To make room for a switch for lights or front camera.

You could remove the dash button. That's a great idea.

This mod is perfect for OV tune gear lock. I need this!

Is it going to be first come first serve like Meso does or will you have a list? I’ve given up on trying to get Meso stuff. I’m always to late!

There will be plenty of kits but I won't have more until the end of March. I'll keep you guys posted when they're available at www.tacomods.com

sorry newb question, if you were to remove the dash ECT button, what would you do with the stock wiring that goes to the dash ECT button... unless you connect the stock dash ECT wiring to the wiring harness on the shifter. (did I just answer my own question?) :notsure:

I just installed this. I like it. Tips for those unfamiliar, remove console, upper radio/vent trim, A/C control panel. You can reach behind the switch panel to access the connector. You can stick your fingers under the Qi charger and fish the wire through from the top to go to the knob switch. It's challenging but not too bad. This is a nice addition to the OVtune, especially when towing.
