Just picked up this 93 Northern Lite slide in camper for my 03 Tacoma. So far it has been great. Anyone have any thoughts on the effects of having a 900 lb plus camper on the original suspension? (Not sure of weight, it says 780 stamped on back but dunno what that includes) I know some people add air bags, I have not noticed any difference in power/breaking but the back sags quite a bit. Will this wear out the springs/leafs? Thanks

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Nice combo. That suspension won't last long if it is stock. If the camper is a permanent addition, replace the springs with some heavy duty ones. Maybe KS's. If not permanent, get yourself some airbags.

Wow, the condition of it looks amazing for a "93".
I've seen lots of guys use bags as well for loads like that or a set of dakkars with an extra leaf.
    Very nice setup.

How’s the camper working out. Wife and I trying to decide between a hardside and a popup.
Did you do any suspension modifications

Very nice camper & truck combo! 1990's Northern Light or Big Foot hard side campers from Canada are hard to find in the U.S. and highly desired by Tacoma or other compact truck owners. Where did you buy your camper?

Found the sixpac on Craigslist. But we sold it. Little heavy. Northernlite is lighter
Looking at FWC’s. We have a trailer now. I’m sure you get many offers for you camper. They should start remanufacturing them. the camper Midsize trucks are coming back, look at Ford and Chevy.

Here's my '80s Six Pac camper that I bought about 2 years ago. I'm almost ready to mount it once I get spray in bed liner, install my Torklift tiedowns, and upgrade to 16" wheels/load range E tires. I used to own an '80s Four Wheel Fleet pop up camper that was in need of a lot of work and sold it to a young Canadian guy.

I know its a little late... but update. I added some airbags to the tacoma. Before I got them the truck would sway really badly going 60+ on the freeway. Afterward, it rides like a champ. Super happy with it. Its great in all 4 seasons. Added a fantastic fan to the roof vent and a compost toilet. Its a fun ongoing project.

I picked it up from Bellingham,WA and now it is in SLC, UT.
