My roommate and I just pulled 5.29 gears and arb air locker out of a t100 8.4” axle in our college dorm bathroom :D He found it on criegslist for a steal and going to put the third into his 06 Tacoma. When space is limited gotta make do with that you got  #collegelife

Rebuilding a rear end in the bathroom......Ahh, the things that young single people get to do. I can just hear the wife now if I were to drag some part of my truck into the bathroom...lol

Welp being you have a prerunner, might as well go a different route and get a posi instead. Lockers are great additions to 4wd vehicles, but a solid clutch based (NO MECHANICAL LSD'S!!!) posi will do the trick both on road and off.

Rebuilt a transmission in my living room once when I didn't have a garage. Wife wasn't too into it, but then I got a workshop and garage with the next moves.

After pulling the third member we discovered the copper line going to the locker broke off and we had to re sodder it into the air locker. Took more work than expected but it’s getting there.

She actually complained about it when we were looking at our next rental house with the landlord and thus the landlady wrote it into the lease that I couldn't have car parts in the house.
