Anyone happen to have the Installation Instructions for a Pelfreybuilt steel plate front bumper for the 05-11 Tacoma?
Oh, and perhaps a hardware list?

    Thanks!

2nd gens are very easy. Just remove the lower plastic bumper, unbolt the aluminum crash bar (6 nuts on total) and bolt the new bumper up where the crash bar came off.

Awesome, thank you! That sounds easy enough. Any idea of the bolts needed?

Unless the bumper came with any extra brackets then you don’t need any extra bolts. Reuses stock hardware.

None, it installs on the same studs and reuses the same nuts as the factory crash bar.

Reuses the same bolts that are already on our trucks:

Two on the crash bar ends and then one in the top hole on each side. Easy.

I've got the 2012-2015 install instructions. Should at least be similar. I didn't see anywhere to grab the 2005-2011 one. See attached.

Install should be the same. Only "difference" is cosmetic.

Mine came with an extra brace that goes inbetween the sway bar -> frame mounts and has a large bolt going horizontally through to the bumper. I thought they were standard with all of their bumpers but maybe not

Bumper support brackets. Theirs are trash. Getting something beefier like brute Force Fab.

Was the large bolt for the frame mount a stock part you had to re-use or came with the bumper?

It came with the bumper. But if you did not get an extra L shape brace with the bumper then you dont have to worry about it

I do like those. I'm curious to see if anyone has been unfortunate enough to get in a front end collision with an aftermarket bumper and how well the brace held up. I'd imagine more anchor points is better when you're winching as well, although I've done some intense winching and never bent anything so far :fingerscrossed:

Those aren't for front end impact, just winching. Helps the bumper from pulling away on the factory supports.

@Marcus Israd I would highly recommend checking the torque on the front bumper at least once, after you put some miles on it. Mine had oval-shape mounting holes for adjustability, but the nuts somehow loosened up eventually and I lost 2 of them. I think the new paint shifted. Just a word of advice

What he said. I’ve had no problems winching but I don’t like how almost all the load is placed on those six studs. The PB brace doesn’t do much for load spreading, the Brute Force or C4 both look to transfer some load back farther on the frame and onto bolts that aren’t being pulled straight out against the threads.
