First off, sorry this is getting off to a pretty slow start, but I'm excited to see where this truck takes me and to be a part of this community now, after lurking for a while and getting inspiration from a lot of awesome builds. I'll be using this thread to document some of the modifications and adventures I go on with this truck. My goal is to build a solid camping and western hunting truck.

So the adventure officially began a couple days ago, on Feb 22nd, when I went to my local dealer to work out the final details of what exactly I wanted in the truck and place the order. Current scheduled build date is March 29th, with delivery in early April. Specs as ordered are: 2019 TRD Off Road in Cement, DCLB, with Tech and Premium packages.

    On the truck:
    Door sill guards
    Husky X-Act Contour floor mats
    The Taco Garage Dashtop Multi-mount

    Parts Pile:
Pop and lock full kit from @KTJO 4x4
    Icon Stage 9 Suspension
    Nitro 4.88 gears
    Icon Rebound 17x8.5

    Planned:
    BFG KO2 285/75R17
    Expedition Essentials Bedside Compressor Mount
    ARB Twin Compressor
Copious amounts of lighting from @Baja Designs
    Relentless Fab Stealth front bumper

Not yet, 3 days into the wait and I'm getting antsy. Planning on getting a few small things for it in the meantime and I'll post those up here!

HURRY UP, TOYOTA! I WANT THAT TRUCK!

Thank you! I've picked up quite a bit of good stuff over the last couple months and found a few builds that have really inspired me, most notably @hellppy and his awesome build. I'm more than ready to get back into a Toyota truck!

It’s kinda like a chess game. With each mod you gotta be thinkin’ two mods ahead. The temptation to start something & not complete it is difficult. Glad I was able to get a good deal on All my sound stuff at the same time, then install. The suspension, not so much.

I'm already thinking like $15k ahead

    And that's just mods...

Got a call from the dealership last night with an update! Truck is being built today and should be here right around Tax Day!

Well, talked to the dealer today and got some less than exciting news... Currently looking at delivery between the 22nd and 29th. Seems like an awfully long time considering the truck is already in Washington, but I guess we'll see.

On the plus side, I was able to sneak into the suspension group buy and should have an Icon stage 9 setup on the way soon!

    IT’S HERE!

Picked it up yesterday morning after a 62 day wait. Went straight home from the dealer and threw in the floor mats, then back to work. The front license plate mount promptly came off after work.

It's finally in the 60s today, so I hurried home after work to get the door sill guards stuck on before it starts to cool down and they don't stick as well.

Spent the whole month of June down in Texas for some training, so I haven't been able to do as much camping as I'd like to, but the drive had some nice scenery.

I really need to get that suspension installed, then order the gears, wheels, and tires.

Hit a deer last night on my way home from hunting. My goal was to kill a deer, but not like that...

So now I need to decide between OEM repairs or a Relentless Fab front bumper. Initially, I was leaning towards the bumper, but now that I've had time to better assess the damage, I think it'd be more of a headache to source replacement parts, repair, wait 12 weeks for the bumper, then install the bumper than to just have the insurance take care of everything with OEM parts.

In other news, I picked up a DMM from The Taco Garage during their Labor Day sale so I can mount my GPS and phone while I'm out scouting/hunting and it was a pretty easy install. Took about 15 minutes total and I'm super pleased with how it came out. Definitely a great product.

    Before the install.
    IMG_5031.jpg

Popped off the trim with a little gentle leverage.

    The trim...
    IMG_5034.jpg

Getting ready to drill the holes.
    IMG_5035.jpg

Since I couldn't find any binder clips or other small clamps laying around the house, I drilled the holes for the two fasteners on the very ends first, then installed the fasteners to hold the plate in place while I drilled the remaining holes. Worked pretty well and didn't have any issues when installing the rest of the hardware.
    IMG_5036.jpg

Just need to install the vents and it'll be ready to go back on the truck.
    IMG_5038.jpg

    Back on the truck.
    IMG_5040.jpg

The DMM puts my GPS and phone in the perfect spot for quick glances while I'm driving, but they don't obstruct any of the view in front of me.
