I like having both. I like having a clean, well-lit place where I can do detail and clean work, plus a rollaround beater work table that is lower so I can get over and lean into stuff, fuck it up, and not care. Can also roll it outside for messy work like sanding, sawing, rattle canning, etc. I need to rebuild my current one that has done me so well over the years, and am going to scavenge my maple top from another bench I'm going to trash. If I did any welding, I'd have a steel rollaround for that, too.

I like one home base bench, then everything else on wheels.

Are you cutting aluminum with your miter saw? What sort of blade do you use for that? Do you use the same saw for wood?

Any carbide tipped blade works good for cutting aluminum.

I cut all the pieces for my aluminum drift boat build using a miter saw and a circular saw.

It will dull them faster than just cutting wood. Maybe dull a third faster or so.

This is my small little garage shop setup. I wrench a decent amount but I do a lot more metal fabrication so my garage is more setup for that. I have the big Husky tool box. I like it. Couple of the things that I’ve purchased semi recently that have been game changers for me are the fixture style welding table and the CNC plasma table. I have a pass through garage which is great for ventilation and also helps with extra space. I do all my tube bending in the backyard.

Last few pics are the fill plates done on the Plasma table for some sliders

I just bought that one, along with the breaker bar. I haven’t used it yet but look forward to trying it out. It seems nice and sturdy but we will soon see.

Correction, mine was 10-150. My bad.

Id love to see your bending setup. And how much you have invested into it. I have that press in a box about to be assembled.

I’ll take a better picture tomorrow if I remember but I have a JD2 model 3 bender with a 1.75” tube die (the one I use most, also have a 1”). I made my own rolling stand. It has a Swag Offroad hydraulic cylinder clamp with a Harbor Freight 10 ton long arm ram for running air over hydro setup. I use a digital angle finder and a plane of bend bracket to make sure that I can keep a nice plane of bend to get flat parts.

    Tube bender $300
    Tube die $325
    Swag clamp $150
    Long arm ram $100
    Digital angle finder $30
    Plane of bend bracket $25

    Total $930

Paid for itself soooooo many times over I can’t even count that high. Well worth it.

I love that little press. Great tool to have at home. You should check out swag Offroad for their DIY press brake kit. I have one and it’s great to have if you wanna bend plate.

Nice welder and custom welding cart! Doesn't matter if you're a Novice or Professional, new welder = build a welding cart for your new toy.

Yeah I just cant justify buying a welding cart for 150 +/-. When you can throw some scrap steel together and make one that accommodates all your needs.

    Edit: thank you @suppra87

You can also get little clear sticky plastic (bi-focal) lenses that you can apply right to your safety glasses. I'll post, if I can find them again.

Several years ago I got a sample pack if Heat Shrink Tubing. I got a bunch of samples from about 0.5" to 1.5" I shrunk it onto the outside of my sockets and my air chucks. Works like a charm. Takes paint marker well too.

Ordered. Thank you. Until I get cataracts and they replace my real lenses I'm stuck with solutions like this.

That's a great idea as long as that HS tubing is free. It's stupid expensive if you have to buy it.
