    ^this man speaks the truth.

Seriously, I get so annoyed with the UI that I just close the tab and move on. It also doesn't help that the activity level is low, and questions go unanswered.

I think I can make it. Just got my email. Interviews on the 28th

Guess I should order some water containers and gas cans. Any suggestions on how much water or gas to bring? This will be my first desert run.

Bring at least one container for gas and one for water. I took two containers of gas and it was more than I needed.

One 5 gal was enough? And I figured I'd bring a case of drinking water and one of those 7 gal blue containers

I brought 8-9 gal with me for a 4 day frip to Mojave. I think the rule of thumb is 1 gal per person per day.

I had 5 gal of gas and it wasn't enough, had to stop midway to get gas. But I was exploring all over the Mojave and didn't stick to the main road for too long.

I brought the 7gal blue container and had maybe 2-3 gallons left over at the end of the trip. it was cold so I didn't drink as much water as to when its hot but then again, I went through plenty of beer.

but your plan of 7gal + case sounds good. never a bad idea to have extra water.

No forum is as active as this one!
The Rally Point section is where the good stuff is at. Select the region and then see all the trips that are happening

Like Rob mentioned, I drank more beer than water on the trip I had a 7 gallon blue container and two 5 gallon gas cans. I only needed the fuel once (dropped a 5 gallon container in), other than that we drove by a gas station in Nevada on our way to Titus canyon... I filled up. My rule of thumb is fill up when I can so I don't get to the point where I'm relying on my emergency cans to bail me out. I want those cans for when I really need them not because I was to lazy to stop and top off.

this is why I carry 10gal ... because I do get lazy to top off and my laziness trumps my rule of thumb.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Intended on coming home and start looking at points of interest etc and start figuring out a program for the trip.

Didn't really make it past the garage. My vehicle speed sensor came in (to give me back a speedometer after the 4x swap). And since I was already out there, I figured I'd work on doing my dash light convert.

Yes, the instrument cluster was a pain in the ass.

I'm trying to lift my truck.. I bought some 5100s and 4wp was going to install but they are booked out about a month. I am not even sure if I will end up going through them because they wanted an extra 340$ to install 1" block.. I might just return and buy something else been back and forth on lifts for over a year now lol

    What area are you in?
also I'd recommend not doing a block in the rear, an AAL is a much better option

I'm in Sunnyvale. Yeah, I was looking at the add a leafs too. Honestly I've been back and forth between a spacer kit (I know) and coil lift OME/5100, full OME etc. I figured the 5100 only will at least level the truck and if I put them on the 4th clip and get 1.5" of lift and add a 1" block on the rear I likely will not need to do the egcs bushing.

Not trying to do anything too crazy mainly on the road commuting and some trails near Tahoe in spring/summer. Not rubicon lol
