These are my observations on using the adapter for music. I am just providing this for information purposes.

I installed the PA15-TOY Ipod adapter in the stock stereo of my 2010 Access Cab (non JBL). When my Iphone 3GS was plugged in it gave an error message stating that the accessory did not support charging, however it did actually charge. The sound quality was better than the stock auxiliary input, however the volume needed to be increased from 25 to 50+ on the head unit when driving (I am running amps as well). The stock auxiliary input would not allow enough volume on the Ipod to hear at all if you had the windows open. My phone worked fine, just had low volume, even with all settings on the Iphone maxed out. It did shut off the music when I recieved a call and played internet radio through the head unit. Then I installed software V4.

Now I get an error message stating that the accesory is not supported and it does not charge. However, it does still play through the adapter. Unfortunately, the volume is now just as bad as the stock auxiliary input. Today, I plugged my Ipod classic in and it works fine (just as loud as the radio), so it is the Iphone, not the adapter that causes the problem. In any case, I am replacing the stock head unit soon so I will deal with it until then. But, if you are considering the PA15-TOY, don't expect it to work with the Iphone 3GS.

Stupid Apple! I had a problem where my wife and I went on vacation. She has an Ipod touch that she bought when they first came out. Before we left she bought me the same unit. Unfortunately we only brought one charger, hers. It worked fine for hers but wouldn't charge mine, got the error about wont charge this device. Nice, Maybe it's a display issue, Steve Jobs will probably tell you that the music is playing you just can't hear it!

    I have the PA20-TOY.

It gives me an error message about not being compatible with the iPhone, but it charges, selects and plays music fine. I can also pump Pandora through the system using the "iPod Direct" function. It is definitely quieter than the radio/CD all-around.

I don't have an amp, and I'm running the stock, non-JBL head unit. I don't really care about audio in my truck, I just want to be able to play my iPhone/Pandora music in there. I imagine if you care about your sound quality, it's probably not the best option.

The window stating that it does not work pops up on mine everytime I plug it in. I just hit "No" and go about my business. If it for some reason does not charge I just jiggle the connection and it usually starts charging right away.

If I recall correctly the volume on your iPhone has to be turned up all the
way for it to play loud. I may be wrong and can't make it to my truck right now to verify. Hope this helped some

Also -- try turning the key six times within 15 seconds. (do not turn over the engine, just send the power)

This resets the settings on the PA15 and PA20. If you're not getting all the support you're supposed to, this might clear out any conflicts.

Have you checked to make sure you have the most up to date cable for the adapter?? They released an updated cable a while back to catch up with one of the iPod updates.

Maybe they have something similar for your phone?
