How are you all liking the on road ride? I currently have a 17’ DCLB TRD Sport with just wheels and tires (265/70/17 Wildpeaks/ Pro Comps).

I’m debating going 5100s with 888 and AAL out back, or 6112/5160 with AAL with fronts set to 5/4. I’m gonna include new UCAs either way just as piece of mind and avoid alignment issues.

Nothing really extra on truck that would make front or rear sag.

I am running the Dakar leafs with the 6112s and 5165 rears and it is awesome. Today I went offroading for the first time since installing these parts and I could not be happier . It soaked up everythingi threw at it and smiled.

I did this recently. pretty straight forward (i did not replace UCAs though). hardest part was assembling the 6112 coils (i went to 4th perch, 5th would have been even harder). My spring compressors kept hitting the shock since it's so beefy. If i did it again, i would totally pay a shop to have them do this ahead of time.

This is my concern with the 6112s (set to 5/4). I really don't want to have to buy new UCAs, since I also need some new HD leaf packs in order to be able to haul a slide-in camper that I'm getting eventually. I'm only running 265/70r17 tires, so I hope I'll be fine with stock UCAs.

ya, I’d just get them and hopefully they can get it into spec. If not you can always buy UCAs down the line.

If you can afford a lift you can afford UCAs

From what I’ve read through out the months in the forums you can run stock UCAs under 2” of lift. I’m currently outside of CONUS and plan to go with 4/3 Bilstein 6112 / 5160 in the rear with no lift and 265/75R16 tires, and run stock UCAs, but I’m still going to do the ECGS bushing for the CV axle just to be on the safe side.

I wasn’t trying to be but okay. I’ve been in your shoes where you say” I should be fine or I’ll hope I’m fine”

As the saying goes on here buy once cry once. I didn’t listen. I ended up doing my suspension multiple times. 6112 with stock UCAs and couldn’t get a good alignment and got JBA UCAs, the 600lb spring wasn’t enough as I added weight and switched to 650s. AAL was pure crap got a full leaf pack. 5160 sucked at hauling camping gear and felt every bump and got Bilstein 8100s and soon after got 8112 to match. Just my opinion though.
    Good luck.

I had a full ome kit with the 886 coils on my last truck. Turd sport. it was definitely stiffer than stock and after 3-4 years one of the rear shock studs rusted away and broke off (Canadian winters). If I were to do that brand again I’d get soft valuing shocks and 888 coil. This time however I’m opting for the billies to try something different.

Have any idea how much your camping gear weighed? The reason I ask is because I'm considering this setup myself. I currently have an old set of Donahoes front and rear with an Icon three leaf add-a-leaf. Was thinking of trying something else. Money is a bit tight right now so the billies seem to fit my current needs which are the occasional camping and fishing trip three or four times a year. The rest of time it's just my daily driver.

100lbs+ I don’t know lol. I have a bunch of armor to so my opinion may not matter to some.
