I have been using powder extreme coatings in west jordan ever since I got my truck. They did all my powder coating for PRINSU when I was running it as well. They do a quality job. Never had an issue with any of their work.

We've always used Armor Coatings at 6068 S Redwood Rd in Salt lake. They've done a great job on everything we have taken them.

Do either of you know if your recommended PC shops do the thermoplastic PC or just traditional? Intrigued the the thermoplastic PC as I hear it’s tougher and can be repaired.

Thanks man. I still haven’t driven my tacoma yet, I’m still in the desert for a while longer! I’m not at the point I need sliders. I don’t do serious off roading, just get up in the mountains as often as possible.

I'm not actually sure if they do thermoplastic or not actually.

Couldn't tell you. I don know that on anything I give them (especially steel) I do a zinc prime before the powder which helps from getting rust under the powder.

Do they do the zinc primer or is that something you do yourself before drop off? Sorry for the dumb questions, I’m a carbon fiber composite engineer, metals are foreign to me...

They do it, just make sure to tell them you want it. I think they do it on most outdoor steel applications.

I work at Mark Miller Toyota in our service department, and can list a few super solid sales guys to work with, if anyone just wants to peruse and not be badgered.

I'm a big fan of @BHill_teq and Mark Miller. Plus, @BHill_teq drives a Landy, so he's gotta be cool.

I am a big fan of @BHill_teq 's LC. The rest I can't comment on.

His dog seems pretty cool too.

@H3llRid3r @BHill_teq If y'all aren't busy on Sept. 26, 2026, you are more than welcome to come over and watch VT curb stomp BYU in football. Then we can tailgate the 2030 game

I'm there. Very few things are better than a good ol' fashioned BYU curb stomping.

Right now my calendar is wide open on 9/26/2026. I'll put it down.

I don't follow sports but it always pleases me when BYU loses at something.

Figured I'd throw this out there - anyone know of a good deal on a hard tonneau around SLC? I saw a Bakflip MX4 for $400 but the dude already has a buyer lined up. There's someone on KSL with just the OEM cover (no hardware) for $100, but digging through some of the threads on how to get the hardware seems like a bunch of work and may negate the value of the cover.

I bought the TonnoPro for the short bed, but after getting (which took like 2 months because of backorders) and looking at it, I think I need a hard top. My kids are very likely to bounce a ball, put a box or some form of other stupid thing on the cover, and I dont want it to get destroyed. This one, but for the short bed (https://www.autoanything.com/tonneau-covers/tonnopro-tonnofold-tri-fold-tonneau-cover)

If anyone in the SLC/UtCounty area is looking, it's basically brand new and is for sale. Paid $250. Make me an offer.
