I already have a CVT but if I had it to do over I'd go with this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KCFKPX0
It looks exactly like mine. Probably the same thing with a different branding and lower price tag.

I saw you recently put King susp on your rig (OEM?), besides the airbags in the rear did you do anything to the springs- ie change them/AAL, etc?

Put tent on and ran into a bit of an issue. With where they mounted the annex channel.

Fixed it though my mounting it flipped and it allowed me to actually open the tent flat.

I would prefer Velcro over a zipper. My tent has a hell of a time zipping shut when it's dusty, requiring me to wipe down the zipper with a damp rag or sponge as I'm zipping it shut.

Until your zipper malfunctions. Have had no trouble with any moisture getting in and the Velcro has held up perfectly so far the last couple years. No complaints about the Velcro here.

Yep, I got the tent stuck in the cover zipper once. Had hell getting it out of there. Right behind the cab so I had to work through the back window.

Just a bunch of old crap
It rode great this past weekend and I took some good off-camber desert trails at low speed and it didn't feel top heavy at all. Actually it rides better than my Tepui did both on freeway and trail even though this setup is exactly 100 lbs heavier (tent and awning combined). I don't trust my current rack for really rough trails because it wasnt even designed to handle weight (built for a soft topper) but it did a great job with my Tepui and my ARB awning so I gave it a try with the Alu-Cab setup. It works but I feel I have to be careful so I'm having a local fabricator make me a custom load-bearing cab-height rack to mimic my current one but be way beefier.

If you do the KB Voodoo rack, it's going to be too low. This tent is long and it needs to go partially over the cab or it's going to stick out in the back by a couple feet and not only ride weird but look silly.

    I've definitely done that before.

Then after a while, the runner on my zipper got a bit loose and stopped sealing the zipper halves together. I have to use pliers to clamp down on it and compress it enough to work properly....while also washing the zipper as I close it :annoyed:

If anybody is interested in the yakima RTT you can get it at REI today for $561 (for the 2 person), its an extra 25% off the sale price. I have a bunch of gift cards and my dividend so I paid less than $300. It definitely doesn't look as nice as the tepui, etc, but for my uses it'll be fine... i have a casita camper trailer I use most of the time.

Anyone have any pics of how you mounted your RTT to your RCI Bed Rack? Did you just a bolt in all 4 corners or use the supplied metal brackets that comes with most RTT's?

Yeah I added HD Deaver left packs on the rear. The airbags aren’t needed anymore
