I really hope your not driving around town with your off road lights turned on!? that would be a real dick move and dangerous as well

you dont add ballasts to normal headlight bulbs...ballasts are what "ignite" the HID bulb. you cant have HID's without ballasts. some off road lights have them internal, where as if you get hid headlights you will have external ballasts.

    Read through this please.
has good info on HID's and lighting

So can you get a ballast for an h3 bulb, hook it up to a daylighter and then have an even brighter HIDaylighter?

^ no, to do a retro fit on a halogen off road light such as a daylighter, you need an HID ballast and bulb, in which ever since you need (h3 in your case), but the bulb can NOT be halogen, it must be Xenon

what? no. your confusing the shit out of me. if you already have off road lights, lets say they use an H3 size bulb, then you order yourself a HID kit that has H3 size bulbs (still HID) and you take out the shitty halogen bulbs from the housing, replace with HID bulbs abd balasts.

read this and you might understand. its how to convert normal off road lights to HID

True. Assuming your relay can handle the power too (which most probably could)

But the HID "bulbs" aren't the same as halogen bulbs. By definition, halogen is a piece of metal that glows, encased in a vacuum and surrounded by glass (aka, a light bulb).

HID "bulbs" are really vaporized xenon gas that allows the current to flow between the electrode tips.

So, hopefully you realize that the bulbs aren't interchangable. You can totally remove H3 bulbs and replace with HID kits in an H3-comptible size.

    Make sense yet?
