Has anyone had any experience with this head unit? The reviews online seem very positive now im curious to see if anyone on here has any input, or has installed one of these before and came across any issues.

Yes. I could not get the data to work outside of the range of my home Wifi. I thought it was an Android Auto head unit, but it was not. I'm not sure, but I think it relies on connecting to your phone through a hot spot?

Or maybe I just had a bad unit, or didn't understand the approach of the tech. Someone else on the forums got one and seems to be happy with his, so I would rely more on his input than mine.

I ended up with a Pioneer.

Hey @RUSSELLTACO , I installed one of these in my 2011 Prius about 3 months ago and it is really pretty cool, especially for the money. It is not an android auto unit though. It is an actual android computer that is in a double DIN format and has speaker wires, antenna hookus, camera inputs etc. Screen resolution is better than most aftermarket head units. It is not perfect though, it doesn't have quite the software fit and finish that we have come to expect from our iphone or samsung phones. That particular model has aptX bluetooth so you get about the best bluetooth audio you can get. The only thing I can not speak for is longevity, but so far so good.

I have been kicking around the idea of getting one for my new Tacoma but havent looked into the interface options for the tacoma. I used a PAC RP4.2-TY11 in the prius which worked really well and allowed me to retain all of the steering wheel controls.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

    Jeff

** Edit** Yes, you do have to connect it to your phones hotspot if you want to use any of the data using apps

Thanks. I thought I was losing my mind! lol The #1 benefit I wanted was to be able to use Waze or Google Maps, but I couldn't get it to work, and my phone plan does not allow hotspots.
