Yeah my dumbass nicked one of my rear brake lines with my angle grinder. Not enough to cause a leak, but enough to make it through the outer nylon coating as well as the braided steel. I feel it's only a matter of time before it starts a leak and I obviously don't want that. Ordering replacements tonight.

I also measured and I need 17" limit straps. Not like that matters, but putting that out as reference for any other curious readers.

You got 5 layers of they are crown lines you still have nylon and Kevlar to go. Crown makes most of the lines for the companies out there

Maybe I'll carry them as spares or something once I swap them out, in case the replacements fail for some reason. Brake lines are something I don't wanna skimp out on because if this line failed and I lost brake pressure, that's a bad time

I get that plastic you use for moisture barrier in a crawl space and cut it 1" shorter all the way around the tent and use it as a ground sheet. If it is raining set up tent under the pop up shelter then move it to where you want it or move the shelter. Set up your ground sheet under the tent good to go! As far as snow goes depending on how soft or deep it is snow camping is on a whole different level. I have camped from 1"- over 6 ft of snow snow, you have to set up differently each time depending on the type of snow, depth, etc.

All the parks I have been too which is like 6 now have had plenty of areas to set up a RTT or drop a trailer and set up a ground tent or RTT.

As far as your comment before about a cooler. I always have one on the trail. Just run a strap over the top of it and through the handles at the tailgate area and you are golden. I've never had an issue and I can bet that I send my truck a lot harder than you ever will.

Again I am partial to ground tenting but I've also have been doing it since I was 4 and have really streamlined and vetted a lot of gear and systems that works really well. The only camping I have not tried yet is a RTT but like I said that'll be for my trailer system.
What is this more rugged tent you are talking about? Also Tyvek works ok but is expensive. It's cheaper to go the plastic route I do plus it's thicker and lasts longer. If/when it gets a little hole in it or wears out you'll have a roll you can easily make a new one. Even if the ground isn't wet it's a good idea to run a ground sheet it's another added bit of protection from little sticks, rock, etc. from puncturing the floor of your tent. The nice thing about the gazelle is if the floor does get trashed you can get a new one and just swap them out, to me that is a huge selling point.

Lol I also have a sneaking suspicion hes putting way too much lift on for this setup. Says they fit but are touching the coils. Waiting for pics.

Thank you for all the pro tips. The last time I camped was a long time ago and I am sure things are quite different now. I have no reason to doubt any of your, or anyone else skills, experiences or suggestions so thank you all.

I bought the Gazelle T4 in Orange of course, from Amazon. Thanks Skipper!

I still want to get a cap though. So I can haul more shit.

Now over to Costco to buy my sleeping bag. Amazon has it too but Costco is $46.00, so........

Now to select a decent cot and/or pad. Or just take my queen air mattress :D

That's what I'm thinking too. I'm suspecting he thinks icons and eBay UCAs can be used to crank the equivalent of a 6" drop bracket lift

Air mattresses are good unless it’s cold. If it’s pretty chilly then you’ll likely be cold because the air adapts to the outside temp.
