I'd be more worried about the bolt pattern. Aren't 2WD 5 lug?

    Meh.

They do look nice, but I'd rather go the other way. My 98 had 15" wheels and taller side walls. My '04 has 16" wheels and shorter sidewalls. the same trucks essentially. The 98 rode much better.

    I know, off topic.I apologize.

Be aware that the choices of rubber will be less with those 17" wheels.

I was looking at these as well. I know the 3rd gen trd offroad wheels fit from what I heard since they 16inch. I can just mount my current tires on it00Q0Q_9tg65CA6mjH_600x450.jpg

They will fit just fine. They are 17x7 +15 offset. Stock rims are 16x7 +15. The tires are an inch taller, but you shouldn't have any clearance problems.

I'm running 255/80-17s with a 1" spacer in these pics. The rims aren't the Trail Teams. These are 17x7.5.

I almost got these for my 1st gen. I think they look good. However, these have more offset than stock and will sit more inboard. Personally, I think it looks goofy without a spacer, and it changes your handling characteristics.

Disagree, there are way more sizes for 17s than there are for 15s at this point

in short, yes they will fit. they are slightly "taller" so you may get rubbing on the frame at full turn/lock and the occasional suspension flex

depending on price and remounting/balancing from your preferred tire place this may be a wash

also, this thread has some good info as well:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...er-toyota-wheels-on-my-1st-gen-thread.563416/

we really just need some correct TW thread for a sticky that everyone can reference instead of 20 people referencing their own or off-site :notsure:
